A teacher-led, innovative PBL program designed to give learners an opportunity to take multiple pathways in their learning and be involved in their community.
Because of distance learning we had to modify learner's personal projects. Instead of an in person showcase, we opted to try a digital project showcase presentation.
So here it is, @GWA192 's Final Project Showcase of 2019-2020. Enjoy!

A little bit of snow doesn’t impact learning! Learners documented and analyzed data from previous rocket launches as well as continued to get their parachutes to deploy consistently. Lots of reflecting happening! @DodgeTigers#isd192#launch192#problemsolving
We got four walls secured today! Couldn’t have done it without the help of @cbolson26’s strength class! Both 18’ and 10’ sections were completed 1st block. Couldn’t get any pictures of the learners carrying the walls though. #gwabikeshed#isd192@DodgeTigers@PBLWorks
The fourth wall was completed this morning! We also were able to take the 10’ section out, fasten it to the slab AND it even fit through the door! It is braced and we’re waiting for reinforcements for the 18’ sections. #gwabikeshed#isd192#realworldmath@PBLWorks@DodgeTigers
Bike shed, assemble!!! (Read in a Ron Burgundy voice) Learners started constructing the longest wall on the #GWAbikeshed today. They even measured to make sure it would get out the door before getting too carried away! 6 screws away from finishing the side. #isd192@PBLWorks
Today was dig day! Learners helped dig out footings that will used for the concrete slab. Later we will add forms, level them, and add sand. Step 1 of many almost complete. It was great to hear learners ask questions and our project leaders answer them! #gwabikeshed#isd192
Just received an awesome email from a company that will donate ALL the concrete we need for “the shed project“ from last year! Ss will be extremely excited about this news and can actually start building after all this planning! #isd192@GWA192@district192
Learners are hearing about our #personalizedlearning triage board. They will eventually choose what they are working on and the location that best fits that learning. Goal setting, conferencing, and reflecting will be done throughout the process. @GWA192@district192
Thanks for a great year full of many trip to the library @dakotalib! Ss really enjoyed your knowledge and assistance with finding reliable sources for their projects. #walkingtothelibrary
A bag of books for $2? @GWA192 Ss thought that was too good of a deal to pass up. They even got books for classmates that didn’t make a trip to the library! #isd192#booksforall
A preview for Wednesday’s project showcase! A Student made their very own carpetball table. Ss wanted to test it out so they had to bring it outside. Come see more projects Wed night. @GWA192#isd192#pbl
A big shout out to the businesses that have contributed donations to this student led project so far! Special thanks to Dakota County Lumber, Dakota County Electric, Bourbon Butcher, Veteran Design Build, and Lampert Lumber Northfield.
Ss shed update: received an incredibly generous email today from a lumber company willing to donate ALL the lumber needed for the shed! It blows me away how people are willing to help students own their learning in a large hands on project! Ss were ecstatic! #isd192@district192
