A Despicable Betrayal of the Dead

Four American soldiers died for this country last weekend. Their bodies were flown home. Their families stood on the tarmac at Dover and watched the flag-draped cases come off the plane. And then the fascist authoritarian Trump regime wiped their names off the official list of the war dead like they were a clerical inconvenience.

1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan.
Sgt. Angel S. Rampersad.
Pvt. Isabella Gonzales.
Sgt. Michael Emmanuel Swinton.

One day the Pentagon's public casualty count said 18 Americans had been killed in the Iran war. The next day it said 14. The four most recent deaths — three in a missile attack in Jordan, one in Iraq — were simply deleted. Military sources told The New York Times the order came because the deaths happened after Trump's April "cease-fire." The Pentagon's official line was the pathetic excuse of "temporary data disruptions."

This is not a mistake. This is a calculated insult. These men and women put on the uniform, followed orders, and paid with their lives. The government they served responded by erasing them from the public record the moment their deaths became politically inconvenient. That is not leadership. That is cowardice dressed up as administration.

There is no honorable way to explain this. You do not get to decide that a soldier's death "doesn't count" because it happened after a speech. You do not get to scrub their names while their remains are still being received with ceremony. You do not get to treat the ultimate sacrifice as a data point that can be adjusted for better optics.

This is the purest form of disrespect: not an open sneer, but a quiet bureaucratic deletion that pretends the dead never existed on the official ledger. Every family who has lost a child in this war just received the same message — your grief is real, but Trump's version of the truth is more important.

That is not how a serious country treats its dead. It is how an authoritarian regime treats them when it has something to hide.

A jury said it twice so nobody could pretend it was a fluke.
Ordered to pay 2 million dollars for looting his own so called charity.
Stealing from a charity with his own name on it.
Found liable for business fraud and originally slapped with a penalty topping 450 million dollars, later thrown out on appeal while the fraud finding itself stuck to him anyway.
First president in modern history to increase the deficit every single year of a full term. Fiscal responsibility, apparently, was always just a talking point.
Kept the debt to GDP ratio above 100 percent for his entire first term.
Presided over the largest single day point drop in Dow Jones history at the time. So much for the guy who claimed to be a genius with money.
Set the record for the longest government shutdown in US history in his first term at 35 days, then couldn’t resist beating his own miserable record in his second term with a 43 day shutdown, followed by yet another shutdown just months later. Encore nobody asked for.
Added roughly 2.25 trillion dollars to the national debt in his first year back in office alone, pushing the debt past 39 trillion dollars.
Somebody remind me who the party of fiscal discipline is again.
Pushed through the largest defense budget increase since World War Two while the debt kept climbing anyway.
Purged more than 300,000 federal employees in his first year back.
Efficient, if your goal is chaos.
Pardoned nearly 1,600 January 6 Capitol rioters on his very first day back in office, including Oath Keepers and Proud Boys leaders convicted of seditious conspiracy.
Law and order, except when it’s inconvenient.
At least 40 of those pardoned rioters have already been rearrested, charged, or sentenced for new crimes since walking free. Shocking absolutely nobody.
His family’s crypto ventures, including a meme coin and World Liberty Financial, pulled in more than 1.4 billion dollars in disclosed earnings while he sat in the Oval Office.
Draining the swamp was apparently code for filling his own pockets.
Sent the National Guard into American cities at a cost of nearly 500 million taxpayer dollars in 2025 alone.
His own tariffs are projected to cost the average American household more than 2,500 dollars this year.
You’re paying for this. Not China. You.
Now sitting at one of the lowest approval ratings of his second term, stuck in the high 30s while inflation and gas prices make everyday life harder.
None of this is a conspiracy theory, a rumor, or something you saw in a group chat.
It is the actual, documented record, sitting in plain sight for anyone willing to look.

BREAKING: DEMENTIA DONNIE! Trump goes BLANK for nearly 30 seconds before landing on the very simple word he was struggling to remember.

Trump’s latest mental lapse shows why voters deserve real answers about his cognitive fitness.

If you search online for the classic symptoms of dementia, you’ll find that the Mayo Clinic lists the key signs as: short-term memory loss (like repeating questions), difficulty completing familiar tasks, struggling to find words, confusion with time or place, and uncharacteristic mood or personality changes.

With that in mind, we’d be remiss if we didn’t point out that Donald Trump sat in the Oval Office today and struggled mightily to remember a common, everyday word that most of us would have little trouble recalling: “earthquake.”

Describing a natural disaster in Venezuela, Dementia Donnie fumbled through an oddly disjointed explanation before finally landing on it.

“Venezuela is a very happy place. It had a tragic incident with the, you know, the event that took place a couple of days ago, a couple of weeks ago. What a terrible thing that was,” Trump began.

“They had a movement, a shifting of earth that was unbelievable,” he continued. “Nobody's ever, they've never seen anything like it. A lot of people were killed, so it's all unrelated. By the way, we were the first ones there to help. We were there to help Venezuela. It was an earthquake, I guess you'd call it. It was a pretty massive earthquake, and we were able to do a lot of good, but they lost a lot of people.”

An earthquake. The most basic possible word for what he was describing — and it took him a full, halting paragraph to get there.

This isn't happening in a vacuum. It's the latest in a string of public moments that have fueled ongoing concern about the 80-year-old president's cognitive fitness — from calling Zelensky "President Putin" at NATO, to referring to Iran as the "Islamic Republic of Japan," to bragging about being "number one on Tic Tac" instead of TikTok.

Individually, any one of these might be dismissed as a slip of the tongue. Collectively, they've become impossible for even sympathetic observers to wave away.

Trump, of course, spent years mocking Joe Biden's every verbal stumble, using them as centerpiece evidence in a campaign built on questioning his predecessor's capacity to serve. His own White House physician insists he's in "excellent health." His allies remain conspicuously silent whenever these moments surface.

Struggling to summon an ordinary word in real time, in front of cameras, while describing a humanitarian disaster, is exactly the kind of moment that deserves scrutiny — not reflexive dismissal. The American people deserve transparency about the health and capacity of the person holding the nuclear codes, regardless of party.

Some lawmakers, including Democratic Senator Ed Markey, have already raised the question of the 25th Amendment in the context of Trump's fitness for office. Whatever the ultimate answer, silence and denial serve no one — least of all the country he's leading.

BREAKING: Trump FLEES to his helicopter after reporter confronts him about his failed Iran war prediction.

Donald Trump has never been able to face accountability.

The draft-dodging president promised a quick and easy victory with his Israeli-inspired “military operation” — what anybody else would call a war — against Iran. Nearly five months, 17 dead American service members, and one deeply uncomfortable press gaggle later, even he seems unable to explain what happened.

Confronted by a reporter at Joint Base Andrews about his original "four to five weeks" prediction for the Iran war — now stretching toward five months with no end in sight — Trump tried to bluster his way through, insisting the mission had somehow secretly gotten BIGGER. "This is a far bigger job that we're doing," he claimed. "We were doing a little job... Now, we're just ending it."

Then things fell apart. Trump stumbled through a confused timeline, changing his story mid-sentence: "If you look at it, after a week-and-a-half... not four weeks, a week-and-a-half, two weeks..." before catching himself trying to claim victory.

“We stopped them from probably, but I don’t want to have the word ‘probably’...,” he started to declare, before abandoning that sentence entirely and abruptly ending the interview. Rather than answer the actual question, Trump looked into the camera, said "Thank you very much," and walked straight to Marine One.

Press conference over. Accountability avoided.

This wasn't even the hardest question he dodged. Moments earlier, reporters had pressed him on the three U.S. soldiers killed over the weekend alone — bringing the total American death toll in this war to 17. Army Private Isabella Gonzales, just 19 years old, and Army Lieutenant Tyler James Feehan, 25, were both killed in Jordan. A third soldier died in Iraq, still unidentified.

Trump's response? "We feel very badly." Followed immediately by a pivot to claiming Iran has "lost everything, almost, militarily" — a claim he made no attempt to reconcile with the inconvenient fact that Iran resumed active hostilities just last week and continues resisting peace talks.

Nearly five months into a war Trump promised would take five weeks. Seventeen Americans dead. And when asked to account for any of it, the Commander-in-Chief chose to flee to a helicopter rather than answer.
