A6: Engaging. They won't be interested or involved if the lesson isn't engaging. Once you've lost them, it's super difficult to get them back. You've just gotta engage them. #tchedbirds#tch296
A5: Young adolescents need to be able to socialize and move around. When they can't they're uninterested, unenthusiastic, gray. They lack motivation and interest. #tch296#tchedbirds
A4: A risk I need to take more is being explorative. When im trying something, I think of things I've done in the past and want to return to them for the comfort they offer. I need to not do that and try new things even if they don't seem as assured. #tch296#tchedbirds
A3: it kinda reaffirmed the idea that there needs to be variation and, to be a bit cheesy, color in schools to create the best learning environment. Students need different things not just as individuals, but also as a break from monotony. #tchedbirds#tch296
A2: Alike really made me think about how drained school left me. I didnt ever want to do anything because I was just so mentally exhausted. There wasn't really any color for me when I was in high school, I just lived in gray. #tch296#tchedbirds
A1: I'm Julianna, I'm 22, and I'll be graduating in spring 2023. My endorsements are ELA, ESL, and math. My theme song for the week is Prom Queen by Catie Turner. #tchedbirds#tch296
A5: Some of my groups main goals as we started clinicals were to learn the students names and get to know our teacher’s (and their teaching strategies/goals). #TCH296
A4: something that remember really well was an experiment that we did in my middle school science class. We tested different methods of hands cleaning and discovered that hand sanitizer was the most effective. #TCH296
A3: being put on the spot and having to answer questions to the entire class. It was super uncomfortable. I feel like just not doing that would have been better, or maybe warning about questions ahead of time. #TCH296
A2: i plan to connect by having conversations and trying to learn what interests my students. I want to know what theyre interested in and why. #TCH296
#tch235F21#cultivatinggenius I think that historically responsive texts should be in classrooms bc there's so much more to offer than just the state mandated reading. There are more perspectives and considerations that should be brought up. Maybe check out #DisruptTexts ?
I've always been fond of "The Giving Tree," I just think it has a good message. Yes, you should give what you can but not at the expense of your own life to someone undeserving of your care and consideration. All things in moderation, really. #cultivatinggenius#tch235F21
When working to become a better writer your cannot underestimate the importance of critiquing and revising a draft. The sharing of work that is then critiqued by your peers allows for stronger compositions and further skill development #CultivatingGenius#TCH235F21
In my reading of #CultivatingGenius something that stuck w/ me was the discussion on the changing demographics of classrooms and how the demographic of teachers does not match. Classrooms are increasingly multicultural & teachers are not. #TCH235F21
A6: Give everyone a little to think and then share your own. Like if you're looking at a picture, point out something weird you see in the background and ask whats going on. That always gets fun responses #masterychat
A5: Model by ensuring that questions are answered to the best of your ability and follow where the conversation leads instead of dragging it back to the pre-planned 0ath. A little deviation can be helpful! #masterychat
