My home country Scotland 🏴
NO cervical cancer cases detected in vaccinated women following HPV immunisation!
None! Zero!
What a stunning achievement !
The HPV vaccine ie a modern medical miracle!
After my mum passed away, my dad came to live with us. Over the following four years his care needs eventually became unmanageable at home and he was placed in a local care home, just around the corner.
His final two years were during the pandemic and he slowly withered away to a tiny frail and helpless soul.
The nurses at his care home were phenomenal, kept him clean, safe and comfortable and kept us regularly informed.
I am forever grateful that they were able to let me sit with him in his final hours until he gently passed away. Never once did I consider that killing him would be a ‘kindness’.
That level of end of life care should be available to everyone, but legalising state suicide or murder will render that less and less possible.
Killing vulnerable people is not progress.
3/ Safeguards? A myth. In Canada, assisted dying now includes mental illness, with 35% feeling pressured as a "burden." Oregon allows it for non-terminal conditions like arthritis. This slippery slope puts the most vulnerable at risk of neglect and harm.
1/ As a former GP, I’ve seen the agony of patients dying in pain. We all want peaceful, painless deaths for our loved ones. But the Assisted Dying Bill crosses an ethical red line—with dangerous consequences for patient safety and the moral fabric of society. 🧵
No real new ground breaking areas with regard to safeguards in this #AssistedDying Bill. In fact overall far less safeguards than I would have expected for this potential seismic shift in the law
Fix the care first. Fund palliative care properly. Give dying people the best possible chance of living well - please.
And then - once we’re confident people aren’t being driven by lack of care into premature suicide - revisit assisted dying in parliament with confidence. Ends/
Misleading and unfair to men @ProstateUK. This will inevitably lead to direct and indirect harm. I again implore you to stop with the partial information and refer men to independent evidence based advice.
Sounds like she hasn’t the faintest idea about the can of worms she is opening. Wants as many layers as possible before people get there?
Killing people is never safe when others directly benefit. No bulletproof safeguards. The law will be abused & vulnerable people will suffer.
Very few people realise that the vast majority of hospice and palliative care is provided by charity - not by the NHS.
I think this is a national scandal.
Please RT if you do too 🙏
This is one of the WORST times for VOTE on #AssistedSuicide to take place when NHS is on its Knees, Social Care is non-existent, patients waiting in AE for 12+hours, MH services diabolical!
Fix all 1st then people will have a genuine choice.
@Sarah_Kendall Ah I use this time to try to remember the wordle answer from 5 hours earlier. Have started taking a photo now to speed things up. Can then move on to all the other important stuff.
I think dynamic pricing (aka ripping off fans) can only happen if a band agrees, if so, what Oasis have done to their fans is unforgivable. They became the touts. After 5 hrs it’s lose out completely or pay up to 10x the cost. No excuse for men from working class roots to do this
