@WestAustralia @MargaretRiver So crazy! The best ways to avoid shark attacks are to swim in beaches patrolled by surf life savers or to swim in groups. The more people in or around the water…the more likely someone is to see the shark before it attacks.

@marinekendall03 Seeing the pollution is so sad! These plastics end up in our oceans affecting marine habitats and fish. They eventually turn into harmful microplastics that fish consume… and then we eat fish!

Seeing fish being sold/ served in a lot of places made me start thinking about how we can personally encourage sustainable fishing: instead of eating tuna we can 1. Eat less endangered species , 2. Check can labels to see how fish were caught 3. Eat local #MarEnvs20

Can you spot the rip? It’s right in the middle where the waves look different. There’s no white and the tops look more rigid. Be careful because they can pull you out into deep water. If this happens remain calm and put your hands up ( if the water is patrolled). Swim to the side

#MarEnvS23 Beautiful Sydney! When you are deciding what beach to go to… remember to avoid the inner middle Barbour beach when there is not a lot of light because they are known for bull sharks! #sharks #marineenvironment

#MarEnvS23 Found some sushi near coogee beach and it made me think about which tuna comes from sustainable stocks: Skipjack and Yellowfin. I think this is something that more people should think about. #marineenvironment
