Absolutely spot on from @afneil.
This really is as good as it gets for Andy Burnham, as things are about to get much more painful for the British people.
Under Labour, we already have higher inflation, borrowing, debt, unemployment, energy bills and taxes. The country can’t take much more of this.
Labour’s incompetence and economic mismanagement have made everything worse. They’re not fit to govern.
Andrew Neil gives the Rejoin EU fantasists a dose of reality they rarely get on Question Time.
The argument is still being conducted as though Britain left the Europe of 2016 and can simply climb back aboard the same train. Neil’s point is devastatingly simple: that Europe no longer exists. The political balance has shifted, its biggest economies are struggling, and rejoining the single market or customs union comes with obligations and costs that are too often waved away by those selling Brexit reversal as free money.
He also reminds Remainers of something they prefer to forget. There were serious economic arguments for staying in the EU in 2016, but the official campaign squandered them with a relentlessly negative campaign and then spent years raging at the electorate for delivering the wrong answer.
You cannot rerun 2016 in 2026 and pretend nothing changed.
The #EU is rapidly becoming a goose step away from 1933...

Well said Simon Jordan - who points out some inconvenient truths on illegal migration. And no, his commentary isn’t racist. He’s simply saying in blunt terms what millions of people are saying up and down the country. And no, they aren’t racist either.
Refusing to drill for our own North Sea oil but then buying the exact same North Sea oil from Norway makes Britain the virtual-signalling, eco-nut capital of the world
LABOUR'S £1 BILLION INVASION: Foreign Mafia Control French Ports, Ex-SAS Expose State-Enabled Trafficking
French police lit the route while holding British journalists at gunpoint. Ex-SAS veterans watched smugglers in balaclavas load mega-dinghies for multiple taxi-runs to Britain. Belgian buses transport them free. NGOs hand out UK asylum forms at water coolers. Cash cards, life jackets, organized decoy operations.
Five thousand lorries roll into Britain daily from French ports migrants load into trailers in broad daylight while security booths sit empty and police guard the gates. The French arrested no one. Labour pays for this.
The invasion is deliberate, organized, and state-sponsored.
Intimidating tactics by the police while my son is in the car and we are en route to church is just plain disgusting.
In the space of a week, my mother, my sisters, my brother, and now my son have all been affected. My son is traumatised by the experience. He has never seen anything like that, and he is now wondering what is going on. He is very confused and upset.
We all know why this is happening.

The outrage from Labour at Reform pocketing £72million from a couple of crypto guys makes me laugh.
Do you know how much trade unions have paid to Burnham’s mob between 2006-2025?
£200million in donations and affiliation fees. Yes £200million.
For that money they run the country when there’s a Labour administration.
And you wonder why we have a new Employment Rights Act where you can now have sick pay from Day One ( the number of week one sickness has rocketed) and maternity rights from Day One which means new employees are turning up having just been hired to announce they will shortly be away for a year.
Almost impossible to fire the most criminal of employees without giving them a payoff because they know dimwitted employment tribunal judges are on their side.
Our nation is bankrupt because it’s at the beck and call of the unions and there £200million.
Never forget it.
You’re ok with the £10 million Lord Sainsbury has given to Labour though and the many multiples of millions your party recieves from the unions?
Forgive me, I’m struggling. The difference is what exactly?
Since I posted this Jaguar Land Rover, UK’s biggest carmaker, is to cut 4,000 jobs.
China Shock 2.0 is not the only factor — soaring costs, especially energy, and Trump’s tariffs are also hitting the company. But Chinese competition is contributing to plunging sales volumes.
JLR is not alone. Volkswagen is in the midst of massive job losses. But Britain might not even have a car industry in a decade — and if it doesn’t it will be down to a combination of politicians lumbering industry with net-zero fuelled energy costs and China Shock 2.0.
When politicians from our Bus-Conductor-in-Chief down talk of reindustrialising Britain, ignore them. They’re pushing policies that do the opposite.
Volkswagen is cutting 100,000 jobs.
Britain should be terrified.
Not because VW is British.
Because this is what happens when industry can no longer compete.
Cheap Chinese rivals.
High costs.
Factories with nowhere near enough work.
And what is Britain doing?
Making energy brutally expensive.
Taxing employers harder.
Piling on more rules.
Highest industrial power prices in the rich world.
Then Reeves wonders why investment goes elsewhere.
You cannot tax and regulate your way to an industrial revival.
Industry goes where it is wanted.
Cheap energy.
Low taxes.
Freedom to build.
Get that wrong and the factories leave.
The jobs follow.
And once they’re gone, getting them back is almost impossible.
The Real Anthony Fauci became the #1 non-fiction hardcover bestseller despite being the most censored book of the decade. Bookstores, including national chains, refused to carry it. Libraries refused to carry it. Every major newspaper declined to review it. The New York Times refused to publish a paid advertisement for the book and made it #7 on its bestseller list, even though it outsold any other book by thousands of copies.
YouTube took down videos of a book signing. Amazon shadow banned it. Twitter wouldn’t let the publisher promote it.
Despite all of that, 1.4 million Americans bought the book because they were tired of the lies and they wanted their freedom back.
Then today, with hundreds of millions of Americans demanding the truth, Fauci invoked the Fifth Amendment 111 times at his Senate hearing. The American people waited six years for answers. Today, they got silence. But that silence told us all we needed to know.
Thank you, @SenRandPaul, for your relentless pursuit of truth, transparency, and accountability. 🇸
Aren’t you the minister for safeguarding women against violence?
And you have to apologise for what you tweeted after a fellow female politician was violently murdered?
Isn’t that a resigning matter?
To the best of my knowledge I have never met a member of the IRGC. Neither expressed “a positive opinion” about them. An English woman named Shabana Mahmood has just made it punishable by 14 years in prison so to do so as a free-born Scotsman I will have to reconsider that. So far as I’m aware - as a UK legislator across five decades - this is the first time I have been explicitly told that I can go to prison literally for my opinion. For those of you cheering, remember, it will be your opinion next.
This week the most advanced AI model on the planet got switched off by a foreign government. British researchers were studying it. British companies were testing it. British hospitals were piloting it. Not any more.
This isn't an AI story. It's the story of every industry we used to lead.
Britain has some of the best AI talent in the world. DeepMind was built here. Our AI Safety Institute writes the rules other countries follow. We have the researchers, the universities, the standards.
What we don't have is the power stations to run the data centres, the planning system to build them, or the industrial base to make the chips. So the work happens here and the value lands somewhere else. We invent. Others build. Others decide. Then we read about it on Saturday morning.
Same story as the kit our soldiers don't have. Same story as the factories we used to.
I spent nine months in government making this argument inside the room. I'll make it louder from outside.
Fun fact. As @elonmusk is rounded on by the UK’s Loony Left, a little research tells me that he has created more jobs in his career to date than Rachel Reeves and Keir Starmer have destroyed since being elected to government.
Elon is responsible for around 400,000 new jobs via Tesla, Space X etc
Labour have overseen the loss of 340,000 UK jobs.
Now who’s the bad guy?
Last year, a video went viral of a scared, 12 year old girl in Dundee.
She was waving weapons, shouting at a migrant to leave her alone.
Almost immediately, many on the left were calling this girl a liar (and worse). They were saying the far-right” were whipping up ‘anti-migrant hate’.
People like @HumzaYousaf & many more called it ‘bullsh*t’.
Many, including people like @jdpoc while calling her a liar & talking about her ‘hatred’, showed pictures of the little girl. Just to make sure everyone knew who the ‘liar’ they were talking about, was.
A fundraiser for the girl was mocked, suggesting she’d use the money to buy “machetes and IronBru”
She was a child. Their posts were seen by hundreds of thousands of people.
She wasn’t ‘hate-filled’, she was scared.
Yesterday, her version of events was proven to be true. She was sexually harassed by a migrant and another child physically assaulted too.
The man and his sister were prosecuted.
How shameful that children need to arm themselves for protection.
How shameful that adults will deny their reality.
How shameful that some people are so desperate to defend migration into this country, that they will literally mock children who are victims of their crimes.
Shame on you all.
I’ll be fascinated to see how many of you publicly apologise to the girl, in the same public way that you called her a liar.
I won’t hold my breath…
I hope this girl is ok.
