Neal Katyak: "It's so amazing to think what happened on Friday can happen, that I -- the son of immigrants -- can walk into court and say the highest person in the land, the president, got something wrong, and to do it not in some rinky dink traffic court but in that highest court in the land, and win -- that is something remarkable about this country."
@GoalhangerPods@Keir_Starmer@almurray@James1940@10DowningStreet 🔥He's got good genes. The PM’s Gt-Gfather – Gustavus Adolphus Starmer - was a driver in the ASC in WW1; his Gfather, Herbert ‘Bertie’ Starmer was in the Royal Artillery. Bertie's elder brother – Gustavus Edward – served in Italy: Surrey Yeomanry.
Just called @DavidHogg111. He reminded me of the story of, after the battle of Shiloh, Henry Halleck urged President Lincoln to fire Ulysses Grant. Lincoln said: “I can’t fire him. This man fights.” David Hogg fights. The DNC needs him.
2 years ago, JC Escarra was playing in the Mexican League after being released from his minor league contract by the Orioles. His dream of reaching the majors looked all but finished.
But he kept going. And today, he just hit his 1st career HR at age 30.
That’s really cool.
Happy Birthday U.S. Grant. The finest soldier to ever wear a US Army uniform. Destroyed Lee’s army, freed 4m from human bondage, destroyed slavery “the cause and pretext of the rebellion,” saved democracy and the United States of America.
Huzzah! @WestPoint_USMA@USArmyCMH
The Stockbridge Company was a militia group formed in 1774 in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, a town populated by people of the Mohican, Housatonic, Wappinger, Tunxis, and Shawnee tribes. In an effort to protect their land and sovereignty, the company sided with the Patriot cause, fighting in battles such as Saratoga, Monmouth, and Boston. After the company was dissolved, the residents of Stockbridge faced continual incursions of their land and were eventually forced into modern-day Wisconsin.
