Here’s Ann Widdecombe in five minutes on seizing the day, religion, converting to Catholicism, the afterlife, her favourite poet, holding true to her political views, pantomime, Strictly, trying to do the right thing, and what sort of Prime Minister she’d have made. RIP.
I don’t believe women can have a penis, but many have bollocks & this lady had more than most of the supine men she crushed underfoot. Her departure is a sad loss to public life.
@gwyn_rh More integrity/honesty than 75% of the whole HoCs now! Without doubt - she was on that 🚂 & straight down 2c the David Amess family & the ppl of Southend (promised any help with local groups etc until the by election) Incomprehensible ppl spew hate re her now
Ann Widdecombe was a thoroughly decent woman who dedicated her life to public service. The latest news about her death is absolutely horrifying. Thinking of her friends and family 🖤
We often disagreed but privately Ann Widdecombe never confused status with worth. She treated everyone with the same dignity whether they could do anything for her or not. That was her idea of justice. After such a terrible death, she is owed no less.
@BarbaraRich_law@residentadviser Furthermore, her participation in parliament, which during her time was predominantly male, exemplifies her notable contribution to political discourse. While I may not agree with her politics, she was a formidable personality, witty and incisive; she warrants respect and dignity
Can someone explain to me who chose Andy Burnham to be British Prime Minister? He wasn’t even an MP. He was given a seat and being crowned immediately as PM. This is absolute proof that the electorate are of zero relevance in this country. Anyone who still believes Britain is a democracy is extremely naive.
@SirAnthonygsk0 “…And you, my father, there on the sad height, curse, bless
me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.”
