@ANerdNamedJerry i dont think shyness is a moral failing, but ive never met a shy person that didn't regret it, meanwhile ive met plenty quiet/introverts that just did their thing and with which i get along well
@ANerdNamedJerry being an introvert ≠ quiet ≠ shy.
often, shy people are insecure and need people to cater to their emotional needs to allow them to participate. if you're around them a lot, it gets exhausting. +
if you are shy you just need to accept that you wont have the same social opportunities as confident people. its not treated as a moral failing, its treated as being able to express what you want, which the guy wasnt able to. She doesnt owe him attention.
It's very cool how so many people think you being different, ie shy or ugly or neurodivergent or whatever, is some sort of moral failing you need to be punished for
Oh brilliant, it’s US midterm election time again. Just the rest of the planet holding its collective breath while America gets its absolute, ultimate, final last chance to remember how a democracy works. International experts are now casually suggesting it will take a
stock market gains are unrealized profits so it kind of makes sense. whats more infuriating is, why are you allowed to use stocks as collateral on debt when the price isnt fixed?
unrealized profits shouldnt be allowed to correlate to liquidity availability
Why does a dollar earned from stock market gains get taxed less than a dollar earned from a hard day's work? It should be the exact opposite.
Wealth making money should face higher taxes than people working for it.
Look, if there’s an airplane crash with multiple fatalities, and your first questions are about the gender and ethnicity of the pilot, you do not have political opinions worth listening to.
@r90d837 she was mean in her head and made out with the guy that interacted with her.
if he felt anything from it was because of it reflected his failings, not her meanness.
@DevinHargrave2 To explain the "owe" part, i would like to know, why SHOULDNT she have made out with his friend?
if she wasnt mean in the tweet, would you then approve?
because if she shouldnt have anyway, then why was he owed that particular interaction from a random person?
@DevinHargrave2 you see though how the humiliation is all on his part. why should he be humiliated? he didnt even interact with her. she didnt even talk to him.
she was mean in her head, his friend was a dick and arguably much more of a culprit.
@Herculaneu@stendhalist she was mean in her head. she didnt insult him, she made out with his friend. you empathize with him because the girl was mean, but genuinely, why should she not have made out with his friend?
what if she wasnt mean, would you have approved even if the guy was humiliated still?
@panchulo_r she kissed his friend that actually went to speak with her. She was just mean in her head. the humiliation he feels is on him and his shyness, not because she actively did something TO him.
I used to think I loved helping people because I was just a kind person.
Then I learned ADHD brains get dopamine from solving problems, being needed, and making things better.
So now I know… I am kind and chemically rewarded.
@SariegoAlonso@1192GuiltyPlea i dont consider being mean morally wrong, its distasteful but its not like she wronged him really. She didnt disrespect him because the kiss wasnt owed to him, no? she just didnt choose him
@SariegoAlonso@1192GuiltyPlea she was mean of course, but lets look at it from his pov. i sent my friend to ask a girl out, she makes out with my friend.
i am sad because he got to make out with her and i didnt. my friend is a dick, i am shy and lost out.
why should i pity him? what did she do wrong?
