Discussion beyond that lies squarely in the realm of what shape it should take. Do you want a future state to place a special importance on rectifying civil liberties for the LGBT? Offer a parliamentary black/indigenous caucus? Don't take these issues for granted in the movement
Communism isn't about subordinating the world to your punk rock, ultra-cool counterculture regime.
It's acknowledging that the people of the world possess a collective wisdom far greater than any individual. Marxism is a tool to identify and ultimately refine it.
Communism is a movement of the absolute commons: the premise of which is actively being realized in our present conditions.
It's not a "potential society." It's society as it will be; sans any of your ideals about what will make it
"better" or "more just."
@lyrasie Then we're not talking about the same thing. I've got no interest in subordinating the world to my hardcore, ultra-cool punk rock counterculture regime. I believe the people possess a far greater collective wisdom than any individual. It just needs to be identified and refined
@lyrasie The Revolution isn't going to be built by creating more Marxists. It's going to be built by an already-existing reserve humbling itself to the masses and forming into a material foundation they can fall back on in times of recession. The masses rally behind that; not arguments
@lyrasie You introduced a bunch of young punks w/ nothing going for them to a vague ethos of abolishing "the state of things" as well as a new proper noun to associate themselves with. All my blue collar neighbors asked for was for the potholes to be filled and the streets to be clean
@lyrasie No. And they don't need to be. As a Communist I find it more conducive to the advancement of the movement to speak their language than whatever Island of Misfit Toys jibber jabber this is
@lyrasie I don't agree with the transphobia implied in the quoted tweet but I'm just confused where this punk rock ethos is coming from beyond some personal cultural association
@lyrasie You seem to have all this confused for some kind of punk rock counterculture. As Communists we are taking part in a real movement that reflects the common interest of the masses, not the subordination of their sensibilities to some heterodoxical regime of freaks and ghouls
Communist who supports AI because they think it will increase the reserve army of labour and accelerate the crisis of capitalism leading to its collapse
