The deputy minister of Ontario Indigenous affairs was responding to the suspended GC’s call for an election of entire council, who suspended him last week pending an internal investigation for allegations of misconduct. The comment has since been deleted.
No words for how horrible this is, how justice is continually denied for St. Anne’s Indian Residential School survivors, their families. Canada should have done the right thing when this all first started. Release the records and OPP reports which detail abuse. How hard is this?

When I see with my own eyes day after day how hard nursing works, the impossible jobs we ask of them - it infuriates me how an Ontario government can suppress their wages via Bill 124. Indecent, tone-deaf, shameless, and demoralizing public policy.

My Crohn's patient is day 3 on an ER stretcher. Some are day 5 on an ER stretcher - awaiting admission to hospital. There just are no ward beds - so ER is the ward.

Please understand there's a big difference between the cause and the symptoms of homelessness. The symptoms of homelessness are lack of shelter, food, clothing — the most basic human needs. The main cause is poverty, not mental health or drug use. It's always poverty.
Hey colonizer. I wear scars of survival and the sacrifices of ancestral blood flow through me. Your privilege, never felt what I was born with. #gypsycreee#Indigenous#landback#WaterIsLife
August 3, 1905 my great great grandfather Andrew Wesley, a pîhtâpek ililiwak, signed Treaty 9 with the King of Britian. No one honoured him or what he signed. Enough said.
The healing narrative puts the work back on the victims. We need to talk about the justice narrative as there is more “healing” to be done by the offender than the victim.
TW. Disappointed to see celebrations on July 1st. The continued finding of unmarked graves discovered on the sites of Residential Schools. For the people in the back: This country was “founded” 155 years ago through the brutal colonization of Indigenous people. #dayofmourning
We are heartbroken by this afternoon’s tragic events in Uvalde as we mourn alongside our neighbors in Texas. To the victims, their families and the entire Uvalde community, you are held close to our hearts today and in the weeks to come.
You have the sovereignty to wear what lifts your spirits and speaks to your identity. Lift up one another. To the ones in the back, decolonize your attitude and stop being a Tuguy.
Your story is sacred. We are an industry & our traditional knowledge is sought after. We have our own stories, teachings & gifts. Ask yourself who is a story-teller or the story-taker. #indigenous#storyteller#sacred#colonialism
Enough panels, reports. Do what Nishnawbe Aski-Nation Deputy Grand Chief Anna Betty Achneepineskum says: Dismantle the Thunder Bay Police and Board. @NANComms /via @globeandmail https://t.co/2w2FGn3nbC
When I wear my tapiskakan I feel the love and protection of my Gookum's. May the love and protection of Babusia / Grandmothers of Ukraine be wrapped around the people of Ukraine and all peace warriors. 2/2

Tapiskakan-scarf in Cree. My Gookum's and Jaban wore them. As a little girl I wore mine around my neck while powwow dancing, I was told it would protect me. The floral scarf was a gift of trade from the Ukrainian people. 1/2 #prayforukraine#prayforpeace#gookumscarf#Indigenous
Thank you for your response but this statement is 100% unacceptable. Correct name is “Waywayseecappo”
It’s 2022. One does not have to learn how not to be racist. Being racist is a choice.
