Analyst: Weaker rupee, rising energy prices spike inflation in India

The weaker Indian rupee and rising energy prices have spiked inflation in India. Manav Modi, commodity analyst at Motilal Oswal Financial Services in Mumbai said that India is a huge importer of various commodities including oil, metal and fertilizer, which is why the Middle East crisis has pushed the rupee to drop to record lows and has widened the country’s current account deficit.
