More renewable energy means more renewable energy storage. We need to be able to convert renewable energy to fuel & use that fuel later - all without emitting CO2. #ThursdayThoughts#ClimateChange#ClimateChangeReport

A damning new report from the @IPCC_CH has laid out a very ambitious target for the world if it is to keep avoid #climatechange catastrophe in the near future - via @gcarbonproject

All fossil fuel companies are grossly overvalued because they cannot realise the assets that are on their books if we are to keep Earth broadly habitable.
@duncancampbell @countluku These points about focusing on this over that just seem stupid. It's the same Batteries vs Fuel Cells vs Both argument. Maybe I am just a negative - but all of this feels self-centered. We focus on nuance and articulation at the expense of driving home clean tech over dirty tech.
@duncancampbell @countluku If I can chime in, feels to me like people take so much pride in their nuances, when all of that is just glib bullshit. We need rooftop canopy and rooftop solar, and a lot more.
@sheldonth @countluku Could you actually explain what you are talking about?
There are industries across the world that use industrial heat for their processes and that use grey hydrogen as an industrial feedstock. You are saying these people should not decarbonize their operations because why?
@sheldonth @countluku I don't think the question of should we do this or that with renewables is a relevant question because renewables are purchased by tons of people independently. Unless you are proposing a global cartel to restrict the use of solar panels for things deemed acceptable
@sheldonth @countluku I think industry who uses natural gas should build renewables and green hydrogen production to replace their current use of grey hydrogen and natural gas for heating. I think they will use solar and wind and geothermal to do that.
@william_sw @MLiebreich@rEUnion_PartyUK@robertwoolley Lol battery people obsessed with telling people who already DECARBONIZED with fuel cells that their stupid bc they use enough batteries. Such arrogance.
