So THIS is why Mark Carney’s trade deal collapsed.

After months of “constructive” talks, “progress” and assurances from Ottawa, Carney finally tells Canadians what happened.

He says the U.S. demanded:

• Medium and heavy-duty trucks excluded from the auto deal.
• Restrictions on Canada signing other trade deals.
• Restrictions affecting Canadian language, culture and sovereignty.

Carney says those last-minute demands killed the deal.

Fair enough.

But Carney was elected as the “master negotiator.”

Canada was told his experience and connections were exactly what we needed to deal with Trump.

Now there’s no deal.

At some point, Canadians are allowed to judge the negotiator by the negotiation.

PAKISTAN: Journalist and poet Ahmad Farhad has been held in administrative detention under the Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance for over two months, since 20 June, in Bagh, Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir.

🚨 He is currently on a hunger strike in protest against his unlawful detention. He was shifted to a hospital on 22 August after his health deteriorated significantly.

Ahmad Farhad is among several journalists and human rights defenders being targeted for speaking up about the human rights violations in Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir.
