in india, workers could die by having tonnes of molten steel fall on their body and yet there is no outrage from privileged ppl but the same section of society will call workers anti-national if they protest for safer working conditions.
the only reason for this is caste system.
They will always cry about 'onerous labour laws'. Reality is that labour laws in India may be complex (to no one's benefit), but both in letter and spirit they give employers a carte blanche to exploit and harm their workers. Worker protections are as good as non-existent.
Hyderabad is facing a serious water problem🚨
Water tanker demand has reached around 20,000 bookings a day as groundwater levels continue to fall.
The worst-hit areas include Madhapur, Gachibowli, Kondapur, Kukatpally and Serilingampally, where many borewells are drying up and people are becoming more dependent on water tankers for daily needs.
If groundwater levels keep falling at this pace, water availability could become a bigger challenge for the city in the coming years.
‼️Trigger Warning‼️
Absolutely heartbreaking!
A grievously injured worker from the horrific accident at RINL Steel Plant, Vishaakhapatnam got his last words recorded.
He asked his elder son to take care of his younger brother, and both of them to study well. He also asked him to take care of their mother. Saying these words, he closed his eyes. He had asked his colleague to record his goodbye video!
The ladle with molten steel exploded at 25 feet height and causing a terrible fire accident at Vizag Steel Plant yesterday. The ultra-high temperature of nearly 1,600 degrees celsius at the operation site has made the situation even worse.
The condition of those who survived is not looking great with most suffering from 40 to 90 percent third degree burns. The number of casualties are escalating.
Many heartbreaking stories like this are emerging.
The official reason is yet to be determined but as per the employees, it is a maintenance issue.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the PM National Relief Fund to the family of each of the deceased, and Rs 50,000 to the injured.
The union steel ministry announced Rs 25 lakh ex-gratia to the family of the deceased and Rs 10 lakh to the injured.
No amount of ex-gratia can make the family recover from this loss. I hope they find strength to deal with this 🙏🏽
The reason why HIV cases are on rise is becuz union govt has been holding on subsiding Pre exposure prophylaxis for HIV, as they don't want to "promote" gay sex, inspite of knowing that it would cut down HIV transmission by >90% in all subgroups.
This is the massacre where Israelis stole the baby in oven story from. While holding villagers in a bakery hostage, Zionist soldiers ordered the owner to put his son into the burning oven. The father refused so the soldiers threw his son into the oven and made him watch.
his name is eitan gilboa, and he's on the infamous "hummus trail"—a route where thousands of israeli soldiers travel after serving in the IOF, after participating in the occupation and bombardment of palestinians, as part of a widely recognised post-service "detox" trip.
many of these tourists reproduce the same hierarchies and colonial attitudes they grew up with, opening israeli-only spaces, mistreating local workers, and treating indians with open contempt. meanwhile, sanghis line up to lick their boots simply because they come from the so-called fatherland.
