“Sticks & stones can break your bones but names will never hurt you” is not true. Yet… "hurt by words" is sometimes appropriately transformed to “rolled like water off duck’s back” & sometimes we rightly reach out to help those that suffer debilitation of having become bigoted?

@ChrissieKeffler Agree VERY possible US should have entered WW2 earlier. Also think, Marshall plan best example of "America as alternative method problem solver". (Context: had UK & France not made Germany pay so much so long after WW1... Hitler might well have not have risen to power).

In 100 year timeframe, US military/political intervention caused more civilian/innocent death than Hamas-Taliban-El Quada combined (e.g. Dresdon, Hiroshima, Vietnam, El Salvadore, Yugoslavia). Are “we” intellectually honest proclaiming “they are terrorists” & “we are moral”?

@ChrissieKeffler Whether genuine "fear of communism" or "rich oil off Vietnam coast"... as USA Vietnam motive deserves careful unbiased study I would suggest. Suggest checking out whether HO Chi Minh was nationalist or communist before we made him need non-western assistance.

@ChrissieKeffler No prob... took no offense. Fair questions & thought process... I ask you to consider however... dead innocent is dead innocent sometimes(?)... if so... to dead might be less conflation than we think... (e.g. Vietnamese might understandably judge "USA very aggressive despot").

SPRING 2020 COVID task force advised 14 days low & declining case count before reopen. 2021 reopening has many governors again ignoring science advice & so more unnecessary death coming. When unnecessary dying is mostly done by non-whites... “Structural Racism” is fair subject?
