Today is a historic day, marked by the completion of Somalia’s National Constitution & the formal conclusion of the long-standing Provisional Constitution. It’s a day that will be remembered for achieving a national milestone that has long been awaited. This a promise made & kept
@Megatron_ron So he called the attacks unjustifiable ,but where was this language when others were attacked first? This kind of selective condemnation looks like clear hypocrisy. Justice and international law should apply equally to everyone, not only when it suits certain interests.
@Abdirahmanirro The guy behind you saying “this meeting is designated for a specific group of invited participants. As you were not on the invitation list, we kindly ask that you exit the session”
@gidonsaar@Abdirahmanirro This visit is illegal and a direct violation of international law Somaliland is not a sovereign state and has no authority to conduct foreign relations.Somalia is one country and will remain one country forever regardless of any agreements you claim to sign with Ciiro or anyone.
I believe 100% that this path will harm Somaliland rather than help it. Dialogue with the Federal Government of Somalia is the right way to resolve grievances. Recognition sought through criminal actors will not succeed.
As a concerned observer of regional stability and international law, I strongly urge urgent action to safeguard Somalia’s unity and territorial integrity and avoid civil war within Somalia and regional proxy war, the following steps must urgently take:
Silence now risks dangerous precedent.
1: Somalia should urgently convene the UN Security Council and formally challenge Israel’s recognition of Somaliland.
2: The African Union must hold an emergency session and condemn any action violating the 1963 AU Charter and Africa’s agreed borders.
3: The Arab League should urgently hold an emergency conference and reaffirm Somalia’s sovereignty and reject unilateral recognition.
4: The OIC must issue a clear statement supporting Somalia’s unity and territorial integrity.
5: Somalia should seek temporary naval security cooperation with partners such as Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey to protect its territorial waters.
6: A Somali-led dialogue between Somalia and Somaliland must begin urgently to address longstanding grievances free from external imposition.
7: Somalia’s president should address the nation and call for unity.
8: Political actors, intellectuals, and religious leaders should rise above divisions and speak with one voice.
9: Regional frontline states Ethiopia, Djibouti, and Kenya should reaffirm support for Somalia’s unity and stability.
Somalia’s sovereignty matters for Africa, the region, and international law.
Somalia’s sovereignty is not optional.
It matters for Africa.
It matters for the region.
It matters for international law.
New Zealand's Green Party co-leader Chloe Swarbrick says public pressure is mounting on governments after she was ejected from Parliament for calling for an end to Israel’s genocide in Gaza.
@dhoorebbc We demand the immediate release of Hassan Osman, a thorough independent investigation, and serious consequences for any official who uses state power to bully, intimidate, or harm civilians. Public office is a responsibility, not a license for violence or privilege.
