Really enjoyed the convo on #hysteria about the downside of referring to women as “badasses.” as a woman in medicine trying to figure out how to family plan this thread resonates all the more - how it can justify unsustainable work environments. @morninggloria@AlyssaMastro44
The remains of 215 Indigenous children have been found at a former residential school in Kamloops, BC (some as young as 3 years old).
The last Canadian residential school closed in 1996.
It baffles me that we even debate Canada's genocide of Indigenous people.
People in Gaza have been reviving an old tradition in which some families exchange their kids, so that in case some get bombed, the others would live. My family is spread out over three houses in three different locations as if they're trying to avert a massacre.
I have never understood the concept of being apolitical in medicine.
Staying silent in the face of injustice is the BIGGEST political stance of all. It says you are indifferent.

This is a plea to the US government to help India. What you can do:

-Lift the export ban & send them raw materials for vaccines
As bad as this looks. It's 10 times worse. The Indian people need you.
@londyloo Agreed. I did appreciate saving so much not travelling. Honestly I was so exhausted after interviews I couldn’t imagine how usually there’s travel involved. But hope there are best practices/ guidelines for programs to follow. Some did a much better job than others in showcasing
For the cheap seats in the back: Police don't need more training, more money or more support. They need to be made irrelevant by defunding an institution that criminalizes race and poverty, and putting money into healthcare, housing and new systems of safety and justice.
there is literally no way to pretend everything is normal and fine in the face of continued police terrorism against Black people, continued mass shootings, renewed persecution of trans individuals...... can’t even take time to properly grieve before the next tragedy hits
