RIP. Nevada Police Officer Austin Abdelnabi, who gave his life in the line of duty, is the 58th officer lost in 2026.

Police Officer Austin Abdelnabi, 30,was murdered when he was shot and killed responding to a call regarding an armed subject at the 4500 block of East Tropicana Avenue in Las Vegas.

Before 4:00 p.m., Officer Abdelnabi and other officers went to investigate reports of an armed intoxicated man at a local business. When they arrived at the location, they were met with gunfire, and shots were exchanged.

Officer Abdelnabi was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds.

The suspect died at the scene.

Officer Abdelnabi was a United States Marine Corps veteran and had served with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for over two years.
