Dr Mavuso Msimang. A Freedom fighter who loves his country & its people. He joined the struggle at a young age. In exile, he served on the Military High Command of Umkhonto we Sizwe. In 1977, he joined the United Nations, working in Zambia, Kenya & Ethiopia. He subsequently worked for the World University Service of Canada (WUSC) as Head of Emergency Planning based in Ottawa. He returned to SA in 1993 & served in a number of positions, including Executive Director of SA Tourism, CEO of South African National Parks (SANParks), CEO of the State Information Technology Agency & DG of Home Affairs. An efficient professional who was dubbed "Mr Fix it". He is a selfless, servant leader & a man of integrity. He raised 3 incredibly gifted & very successful daughters. His resignation from the movement is sad & painful. Leaders & elders like him deserve honour & gratitude from all of us.
