The teachers put themselves at great risk by delivering the programmes on our behalf...
Then we left them behind.

#BritishCouncil's "English for Religious Leaders' programme benefitted a diverse range of influential learners. It was a real risk for the teachers to deliver such a sensitive & controversial programme. The teachers now live in hiding. #AtRiskTeachers

Afghan #WomenAndGirls need access to education, & they have the right to be educated without fear. #BritishCouncil provided countrywide learning opportunities for #AfghanWomen. Sadly, when we left we forgot the teachers.

#BritishCouncil (BC) teachers were employed by BC/ @GOVUK to teach UK values & #EDI.
They meet both ARAP & ACRS criteria. Yet they are all still living in fear & hiding in 🇦🇫.
