The energy pump of helping to heal someone who genuinely wants to help themselves and grow.

The energy drain of being dumped on by someone who just wants to vent, crib and play victim.

2nd album syndrome and writer's block are often caused by the creator building an identity to defend
The crankiest, most irritable people I meet eventually give up the same secret.
"Sleep is for lazy people. Look at me. I do just fine on 3-4 hours a night."
When there's obvious danger, we fight, flight or play dead.
What but if the threat or abuse isn't immediate or identifiable?

Every story I've begun with character has turned out to be a deeply satisfying experience.
