Thank you to @HistoryOfStokey for this remembrance post. I also extend my gratitude to Timeline and its founder, Camilla Loewe, for starting the campaign that resulted in this plaque. I am very proud to be involved in this effort alongside Louisa Thomson. One of my proudest achievements as a Stoke Newington Councillor and Hackney Speaker in 2011/12 was helping to raise the funds to share the stories of Coronation Avenue disaster through the publication of the book “Just Like The End Of The World” collected by Camilla Loewe in 2012.

We’re deeply saddened by the passing of James Cook MBE - a proud Hackney resident, British super middleweight champion and inspirational leader of The Pedro Club. James dedicated his life to supporting young people. Our thoughts are with his family, friends & all who knew him 🖤
Excited to be speaking at @SXSW London this week — in the part of the city I grew up in — about how London is leading on climate action: delivering cleaner air, warmer homes, lower bills and greener neighbourhoods 🌍💚
Congratulations to Cllr Sharon Patrick for her election as Speaker at Hackney Council's Annual Meeting last night. Future tweets from this account will be from or on behalf of Speaker Patrick.
