Dear @Clarion_Group please will you show easy yet vital leadership by installing swift bricks to mitigate the loss of a swift colony in the Bishop Stortford flats? The loss of nesting habitat will cost them their existence unless action is taken. Would be delighted to discuss.
@Clarion_Group we are trying to contact you about these flats in Bishop's Stortford. Swifts used to nest here before the works and we would like you to put up Swift boxes while the scaffolding is still up - but you aren't responding to emails and the contractors aren't interested
@WasThatThunder They're drifting away for sure, but still a couple over Finsbury Park yesterday evening, and you can usually see them at @E17Wetlands until early September :-)
@WasThatThunder Some warm weather (finally!) means we're getting some spectacular flocks & screaming parties today.
No reason to think they'll leave early but... weather forecast says make the most of this!!!
This might be the hottest day before they go.

This could be devastating for our swifts - who will enforce the protection of their forever nests? Who will help us get illegally blocking scaffolding taken down!? @carowoodley@mayorofhackney@MayorofLondon@SadiqKhan
Tell the Met why axing Wildlife police will be devastating for wildlife in our own communities as well as for endangered species worldwide. Sign the petition. https://t.co/Nv8qEajsT6

@Stokey_Nature@AbneyParkN16 Fantastic! We and a few of our neighbours in Clapton put up swift boxes with the help of Hackney Swifts about 8 years ago. One of our boxes has swifts nesting in it for the first time this summer 😊.
Hearing the sound of #Swifts alot more in North East London this morning which gladdens my heart. 🖤 I don't know if we've had a second wave of migration? But it's great news as it's still a fraction of what I used to see & hear daily 10 years ago. Good Luck! 🙏 @HackneySwifts
If you're having any work done (after nesting season please) on your house, with scaffolding, please think about putting up swift boxes. You might get multiple nesting neighbours, like these sparrows squatting in @AbneyParkN16 Trust Chair's swift box!
