The #moth survey across @greatfen this week produced some stunning results, including: the impressive Clifden Nonpareil (Blue Underwing), yet another L-album Wainscot, a magnificent male Great Silver Water Beetle, and plenty of the stunning Merveille du Jour.

Dragons abound at the @GreatFen! It's fantastic to record yet another site at the Fen for the newly arrived #SouthernMigrantHawker #dragonfly. This stunning blue male #insect is one of those #colonising the #reedbeds at the #Fen.

Nice to have a regular stream of #moth records coming in locally, thanks to my eagle-eyed young neighbours out #caterpillar hunting again. This time, it was an early stage #ElephantHawkMoth.

August means @BCT_NBMP Waterway Surveys… join me on my survey of the river at Titchmarsh Nature Reserve.
The survey is monitoring Daubentons Bats and I’ll be back to do the follow up survey at the end of the month! 🦇

@leysbiotutor @BCT_NBMP @_BCT_ @wildlifebcn It a @WildlifeAcoust Echo Meter 2. I’ve used it at school to for an evening bat walk, and it is great because it can identify the bats for you and scan all frequencies.

Driving home after BirdFair 2023 I sleepily asked Mum and Dad when I could give a talk at BirdFair. Not happy with their answer of a few more years, yesterday I gave a talk on Citizen Science in the Youth Hub.
