X is excellent for getting access to info to help you make better decisions on your health.
However, deciding which info to base your decisions on is pretty cumbersome, particularly w/conflicting info.
This thread provides a framework for you to ID better health information
Yeah, it’s great Trump banned GoF research. Whoever the fucking idiot is that reversed Obama’s ban on that is dumb as fuck…Who was that again? Oh yeah, Trump in his first term.
Anyone who takes Tulsi Gabbard seriously is a fucking idiot. She sold No War With Iran T-shirts ffs.
I'm not going to devote much time to this now, but there were many questionable elements surrounding the Wuhan lab where covid19 was likely spun into existence via illegal gain of function research. The most salient point to all of that is that organism should have never come into existence. And there are possibly many other facilities that are US taxpayer funded. https://t.co/LAY04uf1eB
How is it not part of bro code that we don’t warn each other that once your kids can talk they won’t stop? Ever.
We should really get that recorded, at least as part of the meeting minutes next time.
It’s funny…I went to grad school for Human Factors & Systems, but it was just Systems Thinking with a focus on the human component because that’s where you can reduce most of the errors that cause failure/accidents in systems.
@gregmushen This is a great perspective paper on viewing the microbiome:

I suspect, at the level of knowledge we currently have, that this is where most people looking to understand the microbiome for health reasons should start.
@gregmushen Appreciate the fiber-centric post! Some corrections:
1)Propionate is a precursor to hepatic glucose
2)Butyrate is primarily created in the cecum & prox colon. Most SCFAs are.
3)Protein fermentation primarily occurs in the distal colon.

True. But I assume some people draw their line to the left of both.
We clearly need a better system. IMO, we should really invest in making healthier choices available and more attractive.
I think that includes incremental moves away from factory farming.
No, because it’s not about helping people, it’s about engagement.
But at least he’s not one of these lunatics telling people that vegetables are trying to kill you…any more.
Do any health influencers ever talk about food for regular people?
- just blueberries
- store-brand Greek yogurt
- regular beef or chicken
- just eggs
- fruit
Instead the focus always focus on the fringe/specialty items and hyper-optimizer choices.
Or worse, the “better” Fruit Loop options and cane sugar vs. HFC Coke.
Most people don’t/can’t/won’t spend that much time in the details of their food.
We’ve got to make it easy for simply better choices.
MAHA feels the old guard was bad at doing their job(true), not realizing the same forces preventing the old guard from doing their job(lobbying by industry) are going to be the same forces preventing MAHA from doing their’s.
TLDR; Educate yourself cuz help ain’t coming.
This is a great podcast episode to have on in the background.
One thing in particular is that MAHA has identified “the problem”, but doesn’t produce useful solutions.
Currently, the MAHA/MAGA coalition is a failure, and I truly hope it gets better. Basically, they got…
food dyes removed from lower quality foods you should be limiting anyway, in exchange for higher limits on microplastics in the water and soil.
That’s not a win.
The cool thing about this podcast episode is that it kinda shows how our biases cloud our judgement…
Meh. If you want to drink it, go ahead.
Is it something I’d add to my daily? No. I take creatine, collagen, and magnesium.
If you want protein water take collagen. I think there’s merit to upping glycine intake and getting a high protein diet w/lower sulfur based aminos.
