Abu Huraira (R.A) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Avoid the seven destructive sins. The companions asked: O Messenger of Allah, what are they? He replied: Associating partners with Allah, magic, killing a soul which Allah has forbidden except for a just cause, consuming usury, consuming the wealth of an orphan, fleeing from the battlefield on the day of the march, and slandering chaste, believing, innocent women. This profound warning from the Prophet ﷺ serves as a comprehensive spiritual safeguard for the Muslim Ummah. By explicitly identifying these seven major transgressions, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ highlighted the specific actions that sever the bond between the servant and the Creator, devastate the social fabric of the community, and lead the perpetrator toward the fire of Hell. Each of these sins represents a direct violation of the rights of Allah or the rights of His creation, demanding the utmost vigilance from every believer who seeks to preserve the purity of their faith and the security of their hereafter. The Prophet ﷺ presented this list not merely as an advisory, but as a critical directive for the preservation of the soul from destruction, urging the believers to distance themselves entirely from these paths of ruin and to guard their hearts and limbs against such immense disobedience.
