Hi Brian,

I have a feature suggestion that I believe could streamline the user experience even further: adding an option for a simple, built-in URL shortener.

Currently, achieving branded short links requires integrating a second plugin like Pretty Links. While this works, building a lightweight version of this feature directly into Novashare would be a game-changer for users who value simplicity and performance.

Here is the ideal workflow I envision:

Add Custom Domain: A user points their custom domain (e.g., https://t.co/EDmdz7weTP) to their server and adds it in a new field within the Novashare settings.

Auto-generate Short URL: When any new page or post is published, Novashare automatically generates a unique short URL for it using that custom domain (e.g., https://t.co/HzI5DJp8Li). This could also work for existing content.

Share the Short URL: When a visitor clicks any Novashare button to share that page or post, the link that gets shared is the new, branded short URL.

Pass Social Metadata: The short URL would function seamlessly, allowing the social media platform to pull the correct featured image, page title, and description from the original post, just as it does now.

Essentially, it would give users the branding power of a custom short URL without having to install and manage a separate plugin. This feels perfectly aligned with the Novashare philosophy of providing powerful features without the bloat.

What are the chances of adding something like this to the development roadmap?

في ليبيا اليوم، نشهد ظاهرة غريبة تتمثل في اعتماد العديد من مؤسسات الدولة بشكل كامل على صفحات "فيسبوك" كواجهة رئيسية للتواصل مع الجمهور، متجاهلين تمامًا أهمية وجود موقع إلكتروني رسمي. وكأنهم يعتقدون أن صفحة على "فيسبوك" تكفي لتلبية احتياجات المواطنين، متناسين أن الموقع الإلكتروني هو الركيزة الأساسية التي تعكس مصداقية المؤسسة وجديتها.

من المحزن أن نرى هذا التوجه يعكس مستوى من الجهل بالتطورات التكنولوجية الضرورية، وكأن المؤسسات تقول إن الاهتمام بالموقع الإلكتروني أمر غير ضروري! في الحقيقة، الاعتماد على "فيسبوك" وحده يبعث برسالة واضحة: "نحن غير مهتمين ببناء تواجد ��قمي محترف ومستدام". هل هذا هو الشكل الذي يجب أن تتبعه المؤسسات الحكومية التي يفترض أن تقدم خدماتها بأعلى مستوى من الشفافية والاحترافية؟

هذه ليست مجرد مسألة تكنولوجية، بل مسألة مصداقية وشرعية. الاعتماد الكامل على منصات التواصل الاجتماعي دون موقع إلكتروني قوي يعكس ضعفًا في الاستراتيجية الرقمية ويعرض المؤسسات لخسارة الثقة والفرص. حان الوقت لإعادة النظر في هذا النهج الذي لا يخدم سوى تقليص مصداقية المؤسسات وتقليل كفاءتها في تقديم الخدمات. هل ستستمر المؤسسات في هذا النهج غير المدروس أم ستبدأ في التحول إلى تواجد رقمي حقيقي يعكس احترافيتها؟
