How tragic and how petty, that Afghanistan has become final resting place for its greatest minds and talents.
A country that should celebrate its intellectuals, scientists, artists, athletes, and professionals instead only seems to welcome many of them back for burial.

Public Calls for Protests as Taliban Deploy Heavily Armed Forces Across Herat and Kabul
Amid growing public calls for protests over the arrest of women in Herat, the Taliban have significantly increased their military presence in Herat and western Kabul since last night.
Videos circulating since last night show Taliban forces deploying military vehicles and heavy equipment across multiple locations in both cities.
Residents of Herat report that the city has become heavily militarized overnight, with an intensified security presence visible throughout urban areas.
These developments come as protest rallies are scheduled to take place on Friday afternoon in response to the arrest of women in Herat, according to organizers’ calls for demonstrations.
The heightened deployment of Taliban forces has raised concerns among residents ahead of the planned protests.

The girls in this video are my distant relatives. They were on their way to a seminar in Kabul when they were run over.
Their only crime was seeking knowledge and a better future.
This is the reality many Afghan women and girls face today.

Taliban opens fire on civilians protesting morality police in Herat, Afghanistan
Residents of Herat took to the streets to protest the Taliban’s brutal “morality police” and their aggressive enforcement of the mandatory burqa and chador dress code for women and girls.
In response, Taliban fighters opened fire directly on the demonstrators in the Jebrail area. Eyewitnesses report that gunmen targeted people in the head, chest, and legs as they fled.
At least one person was killed and 20–22 others were injured, including a 13-year-old child. Some wounded civilians reportedly avoided hospitals out of fear of arrest, while Taliban forces blocked access to medical centers and patrolled local hospitals searching for protesters.
People ofter ask why Afghan men don’t stand up to the Taliban, while the taliban continue to receive 40 millions a week, possess vast arsenals of weapons, and brutally crush anyone who dares to resist. It’s easy to ask for resistance when you’re not the one facing the gun.
Herat Protest Crackdown: Taliban Fighters Beat Protesters as a Woman Continues Chanting “Freedom”
Videos from the protests in Herat against the Taliban’s restrictive policies show the group’s fighters not only firing live ammunition at demonstrators but also beating protesters with sticks.
In one video, a female protester can be heard repeatedly chanting “freedom” despite Taliban fighters beating protesters around her.
The footage highlights the harsh response to demonstrations that erupted in Herat amid growing public opposition to the Taliban’s policies and treatment of women.

@Qaisalamdar Perhaps everyone sharing reports of atrocities in Afghanistan should tag @saadmohseni and ask him to verify them with his mother if they are true.
UNAMA: Taliban Restrictions on Women in Afghanistan Are Severe and Worsening
Georgette Gagnon, Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Acting Head of UNAMA, told a United Nations meeting that restrictions imposed by the Taliban on women and girls in Afghanistan are “severe and increasing.”
Addressing the meeting, Gagnon said that approximately 250,000 additional girls are denied access to secondary education each year, as the Taliban continues to prohibit girls from attending school beyond the primary level.
She also highlighted the recent detention of women and girls in Herat, noting that around 30 women were arrested by the Taliban’s Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice for allegedly failing to comply with the group’s mandatory dress code.
Gagnon warned that the ongoing restrictions continue to erode the rights and freedoms of Afghan women and girls, further deepening their exclusion from education, public life, and employment opportunities.

Women in Major Afghan Cities Go Out and Drive Without Covering Their Faces, Says Moby Director
Saad Mohseni, the owner of Tolo TV, said in a recent speech that the situation of women in major Afghan cities is not significantly different from that of the republican era, claiming that women can go out in public and drive without covering their faces.
Mohseni also stated that many Taliban leaders send their daughters to school. However, he did not specify which schools these daughters attend, given that secondary and higher education for girls remains closed in Afghanistan.
His remarks come as Taliban authorities detained several women in Herat today for failing to cover their faces.
During the 20-year Republic era, Mohseni was widely regarded as a supporter of women’s rights and democratic values. Since the Taliban returned to power, media outlets affiliated with Moby Group of serving as platforms for Taliban propaganda.
