@PiecesofMargo This makes me smile! I would give anything to have one more luncheon with my mom. I know parents can be annoying at times, but please treasure her presence. The day will come that she wonโt be around. ๐
@PhoebeF43986@InterestingSTEM As a hospice nurse, we do parenthesis draining regularly for comfort if the patient has that issue - and yes, the fluid can be flushed down the toilet.
@PiecesofMargo Hospices deal with people of all different religious and spiritual backgrounds. You can outright refuse spiritual care, but I donโt advise it even for atheist patients. They quite often are very capable at helping people find peace, even without a religion discussion.
@PiecesofMargo Most hospice chaplains are ecumenical and donโt wear traditional churchy garb. But share your concern with your nurse and they will pass it along. I promise, every hospice has made accommodations for patients with religious trauma.
@jtrebach Iโve often called a Dr with โAQRโ. (Ainโt Quite Right). Canโt put my finger on it, but Iโve been with this patient for hours/days and something AQR. Usually they are crumping.
I am a hospice nurse. I HATE funerals. All the obligatory pomp and circumstance for those that are still alive. As the most immediate family member, I already said my goodbye. I will not have a funeral. My loved ones know my wishes. Give me strength today!
My dad passed away yesterday, at home, with his family by his side. I was able to care for him at home and keep him safe. Iโm so glad his suffering is over. #DaddysHands#Parkinsons#Hospice
@kiswanson All the reports I heard indicated he went into the ambulance with oxygen. After he arrived at the hospital the announced he was intubated. Reports from the field said he had oxygen on. Canโt find photos
