Non-profit organization advocating for health insurance agents and insurance professionals through timely information and education to better serve consumers
Agents are being targeted by CMS, deemed guilty without being afforded due process or a formal appeal procedure; resulting in the immediate loss of their ability to sell or access their client base—all without substantiated proof of fraudulent activity https://t.co/FX60zrW2w8
@RepAndyHarrisMD False. Indicting political opponents merely for being political opponents is the stuff of dictatorships. Indicting a member of the political opposition party for criminal behavior is a sign of the rule of law
CMS opens 🙄#ACA special enrollment period for those losing Medicaid coverage. Starting March 31, beneficiaries no longer covered by Medicaid's continuous enrollment requirement will be able to get marketplace plans https://t.co/So4hcZpDhZ
Nearly 16 million people have signed up for #ACA coverage since open enrollment began Nov. 1—a 13% increase over last year, and includes over 3 million new enrollees. Extended subsidies included in the Inflation Reduction Act credited with driving signups https://t.co/6Rxcsqbt4z
As many as 18 million enrollees stand to lose Medicaid coverage when the Covid19 public health emergency ends, according to a new RJWF analysis. Many enrollees will transition to other coverage options, but 3.8 million will completely lose coverage https://t.co/pj1CUkBreg

Historically having worked with Medicaid and Medicare Advantage populations, Uber Health is now expanding its services to self-insured employers https://t.co/roeB0TRIxs
There are 3,998 Medicare Advantage plans available for individual enrollment for 2023, up 6% from this year, and the average beneficiary will have 43 plans to choose from (compared with 38 this year); 89% of plans will offer Rx drug coverage for 2023 https://t.co/I2trBBxOWb

Employers increasingly are turning to hospitals that have good track records for quality and value to cover high-cost surgeries. They are also steering their employees to lower-cost providers that offer good quality care.

According to KFF, an estimated 5.1 million people fell into the family glitch in 2021. About 2.8 million were children, nearly half of whom (46%) were low-income. Most (85%) were enrolled in employer-sponsored plans, while about 9% were uninsured and 6% purchased individual plans
Treasury releases final rule that fixes the “family glitch,” a flaw in #ACA regs that blocked family members from receiving tax credits if someone in their home had access to an employer-sponsored plan. The change covers 2023 enrollments that start 11/1 https://t.co/Ctg1BQQIAe
Important win today for independent insurance agents and brokers; a HAFA-led campaign has resulted in members of the U.S. House of Representatives submitting a letter asking CMS to delay and rework its Medicare Advantage and Part D rule
HAFA believe that the rule punishes independent health agents—many of which are small businesses—and puts seniors at risk of the misleading advertising and sales tactics the rule is designed to prevent. Thank you for your support @RepMikeJohnson @RepGusBilirakis@RepBuddyCarter
When it comes to aggressive sales tactics and seniors being misled by slick advertisements with famous athletes or TV stars, independent agents & brokers are not the problem, but rather the solution. Burdensome rules that could put agents out of business is not the answer
Please see HAFA’s op-ed posted this morning on Insurance NewsNet, re CMS rules that would require agents to record calls with Medicare beneficiaries: “Burdensome regulations could make seniors more vulnerable to aggressive Medicare sales tactics”https://t.co/VY3NlrwOZI
The rule is set to take effect on October 1. Independent agents and brokers are asking CMS for regulatory guidance and a delay of the effective date to allow the agency and stakeholders to craft regulations that will actually protect consumers from aggressive marketing/ad tactics
