@wadannatt @peacheslave @jeremycorbyn Even a brief look at socialist UK and communist Russia just after WW2 will significantly help your understanding of socialism vs communism.
@DennyHaynes @Mark32855587 @DavidB45212563@jeremycorbyn Perhaps I was defending Ofsted inspectors agsinst your inept and unjustified accusation. I make no apology for doing so. If you are somehow emotionally vulnerable then I apologise but that was not obvious from your post.
#BrexitBill Just read this in The Guardian
"I’m not an expert on the finer points of Johnson’s new deal, but it feels as if MPs are being gaslighted into congratulating him for the political equivalent of negotiating full price on a DFS sofa."
@EssexBuccaneer UK "fishermen" are not all the same. Small operators risk all to catch fish. The main operators are like bankers who simply trade financial instruments derived from quotas and who never go to sea, preferring to go around their various overseas mansions.
@leighlario @WCullmac @susannareid100 Yes. The problem is that having decided to leave we immediately had to understand "how". There is still no proper answer.
@leighlario @WCullmac @susannareid100 It was Cameron who said the referendum would be binding on his government. It was always advisory to Parliament, the sovereign power. Cameron immediately stood down and with him went his promise, leaving Parliament to determine if we should go on negotiated terms or remain.
Newry Customs Clearance in August 1972 after an IRA bomb which killed four customs officers, two policemen and three IRA members. 14 children were left fatherless as a result of this bomb.
@BBCPolitics@BBCNews@BBCkatyaadler Johnson's duplicity is clear from his words; he describes EU governments as "Our friends and partners." but describes negotiating our trade arrangements with them as "surrender".
@marcuschown Yes In 2016 some 17.4M voted for some type of exit. In 2017 a general election voted in a Commons to represent 64M of us. 54% of that electorate voted in MPs whose manifestos specifically precluded a no-deal exit. There is representative democracy in action.
@itvnews This decision will allow our enemies to recruit people to kill us on our own streets because brainwashers (like ISIS) can claim we send out soldiers to murder innocent civilians with impunity. We should not have relinquished the moral high ground.
