1536 @Ambtheatre - brilliant play about the limitations and suppression of women in the 16th century. It's tragic, it's witty. Amazing performances all round - a fantastic production.

High Noon @haroldpintertheatre - I didn't like it as much as I had hoped I would, considering it is directed by the brilliant Thea Sharrock. For me, it was lacking tension, and I could have done without the line dancing. Still, I thought Billy Crudup gave a great performance.

I saw Mary Page Marlowe at the Old Vic a couple of months ago - I wasn't impressed. The most memorable thing about it was that an audience member brought her little dog to the performance - I had no idea dogs were allowed! He was very well behaved.

All My Sons @WyndhamsTheatre - Bryan Cranston is brilliant as Joe Keller and Paapa Essiedu is very impressive as his son, Chris. There are some fine performances throughout, and Ivo Van Hove's direction and minimalistic set works well. Loved it.

Othello @trh - not my favourite production. Harewood's body language is perfect, sadly his projection is not. Jones could be a great Iago but the constant need to emphasise when he is being ironic is annoying. Fitzgerald is a convincing Desdemona - joyfully innocent

The Weir @haroldpintertheatre - I always loved the play and this brilliant production is just a reminder why it was such a success from the beginning. Brendan Gleeson, as expected, is perfect, but there are great performances throughout.

Peaky Blinders @Sadlers_Wells - very energetic performance, great music and fantastic dancing. But had it not been for the narrator and the flat caps, it would have been difficult to piece together a story line or indeed relate it to the Peaky Blinders

Inter Alia @NationalTheatre - powerful performance by Rosamund Pike. For me, the play had too many unnecessary distractions, like the karaoke scene. I didn't think it was nearly as good as Prima Facie

Evita @LondonPalladium - the concert style staging updated, but not improved the musical. Singing was good. Aloise's choreography - typical Jamie Lloyd choice, was repetitive & became boring. Balcony performance was an obvious choice, but to the detriment of the paying audience
