Our Principles Are Not for Sale, and Our Commitment to Our People Is Not Negotiable.
Baacha Khan’s philosophy teaches that politics is not a struggle for personal privilege or office, but a lifelong commitment to our people’s dignity, peace, and rights.
Yesterday, the Governor visited our residence, expressed respect for the Awami National Party, and sought cooperation on peace and security, the National Finance Commission, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s constitutional rights, and the province’s royalties and financial entitlements.
I supported these objectives as they concern our people’s rights and welfare.
The Awami National Party has already declined political offers, including the governorship. Our public position remains unchanged.
We come from a tradition that has endured imprisonment, persecution, sacrifice, and isolation without abandoning its principles. Baacha Khan taught non-violence, patience, service, and steadfastness.
These principles do not require closing the doors to dialogue, nor does dialogue require surrendering political independence.
We can disagree on politics yet agree our people deserve peace. We can differ on ideology yet demand constitutional justice. We can remain independent yet stand together for our province’s legitimate rights.
Our elders taught us to measure integrity not by whom we meet, but by the principles we uphold and the interests we serve.
For us, peace is not a political favour, provincial rights are not a bargaining chip, and our people’s dignity is not to be exchanged for office or privilege.
We shall continue to engage where our people’s rights are concerned, disagree where our principles demand it, and remain faithful to the legacy entrusted to us.
Our loyalty is to our principles, our people, and the constitutional rights of our province. That commitment remains unchanged.
