Can the Prevent equations be used to assess CV risk in cancer survivors?
Our work led by @MustafaAjlan suggests that PREVENT equations predict CV mortality in cancer survivors, with close to 1/3 of these persons at high CV risk
Important to assess / mx cardiovascular risk factors in this high risk population

Dear medical students:
Be kind to yourself. It takes a ton of time to master the skills needed to practice medicine well. Keep going, keep trying, keep showing up.
One day, years from now, you'll look back and see how far you've come (and be amazed by it).
Don’t look for study advice online from strangers. You don’t know how they learn, what their goals are, or if their advice even works. They might be completely different from you. Instead, find people at your own school, students you know and trust, whose success you can verify firsthand. Their guidance will be more relevant, more reliable, and way less overwhelming. And you get to ignore all those endless online tips about what you “should” be doing. Just scroll past. Your sanity will thank you.
Every time you do an NBME question, don’t just focus on the right answer. Ask yourself: Why did the question writer include each wrong choice? Distractors aren’t random. Some are close but not quite. Some test common misconceptions. I’ve even seen distractors chosen because they rhyme with the correct answer (and it works!).
Dig into them. You’ll start to see patterns. You can learn a ton by scrutinizing the wrong answers. Figure out why they’re chosen, and you’ll start to understand how question writers think.
In a team-based learning study, medical students answered clinical cases and then saw ChatGPT’s suggestions.
They changed their answers to match with ChatGPT even when it was wrong.
Worse: peer discussion didn’t fix it.
Critical thinking toward AI outputs is important. #MedEd
