President Trump’s decision to lift sanctions on Russian fuel amidst Putin’s ongoing and brutal attacks on civilian targets in Ukraine makes no sense and is a betrayal of the legacy and leadership of the late Senator Lindsey Graham.
While Ukraine fights for its survival, Putin’s war machine continues to prosecute his terrorist war on civilian populations and innocent Ukrainians are dying every day.
Now, Instead of implementing the tough sanctions Lindsey Graham fought to his last breath to enact, President Trump has announced the United States is lifting sanctions on Russian energy, fueling the Putin’s war machine.
As I saw firsthand in Ukraine last month, Putin is losing this war. Ukraine has fought the Russian military to a standstill and reinvented warfare with drones taking the fight into the heart of Russia.
America should not be throwing a lifeline to Putin’s war machine. Now is the time to stand strong against Russian aggression as we did during the first Trump administration.
Putin doesn’t want peace. Putin wants Ukraine. I have no doubt that if Putin overruns Ukraine, it will only be a matter of time until Russia’s military crosses a border that our troops will have to deal with him.
America is the Leader of the Free World. For our National Security, for the security of our Allies in Europe including Ukraine, President Trump should rescind this deal immediately and return to the strong policies of our four years in the White House; impose harsh sanctions on any nation purchasing Russian energy and work with our allies to ensure Ukraine has the military support it needs to repel and defeat this Russian invasion once and for all. $SONY just had a double beat on earnings and raised guidance. ADR is up nearly 3% overnight.
My favorite non AI idea, I think this notoriously conservative conglomerate is still heavily sandbagging generational sales and profit impact of GTA 6 for FY26 (ending March 2027).
- Q1 revenue $17.8B +8% in yen, 2% in dollars.
- Q1 operating income $3.0B. Up 40% in yen, 27% in dollars.
- Q1 net income $2.15B, up 20% in dollars.
- Full year operating income guide raised from $10.4B to $11.1B
My focus is on gaming, but all the other wonderful businesses look really strong across the board with guidance raises for all but one segment.
GTA VI launches November 19. 112 days out and it lands inside Sony's fiscal year. Sony just guided full year gaming revenue up to $29.4B against $31.1B last year and sees profit climbing massively.
They are guiding gaming to SHRINK in the fiscal year that contains the biggest entertainment launch in history, to which they are the second biggest beneficiary of.
They raised gaming operating income by $388M and listed the reasons as tariff refunds, foreign exchange, cost improvements. Not one word about GTA VI or a major upcoming title.
Meanwhile $TTWO already put $8.0B to $8.2B of FY27 net bookings in writing, up from $6.7B. The platform collecting 20-30% of every dollar of 70% of that guide has its own gaming revenue going DOWN year over year.
That is before PS Plus reactivations and new sign ups and before the in-game purchases of the online economy, which ships day one this cycle instead of taking a while to build up like it did for GTA V.
$SONY also says that memory has been secured for their forecasted console demand this year and they won't expect a further change to profitability (so they won't be hiking prices further). My personal expectation is that PS5's will be impossible to buy this Holiday season, and we could even see front-loading happen this quarter.
Again this is just not a huge concern because profits are being guided up to over 39% growth. Sony's gaming business is getting more profitable amid the memory crunch because of all the network services revenue where the margin is (games, subscriptions).
Risks are real though an earthquake just hit Japan that is disrupting their semiconductor factory that is a driver of their second most profitable business, but they expect it to come back online in August. This happened too recently to get baked into guidance. Also currency risk is material.
I'm personally holding Jan calls that are inching towards ITM. Already up 100% as of earlier today. Don't see reason to sell yet as it doesn't seem the market is putting two and two together yet on the GTA thesis.
Stock has crushed the last month up 13%, mostly from rotation out of AI. Trading at just 17x guided earnings. Still down big from its November high with the biggest catalyst in the division ahead.
Got enough $KRKNF $PNG.V?
Australia and Anduril have already partnered to develop the Ghost Shark, which carries around $10M of Kraken Robotics components per sub (Pre Covelya, probably more now)
And Kraken is now available on Robinhood
It feels like everything is finally aligned for Kraken Robotics
I am expecting the stock performance to pick up again over the next period as the acquisition closes and defense comes back into the rotation
One thing that is admirable, regardless of your personal opinions, is the "no man left behind" motto in the US military: They will move heaven and earth to find and rescue someone stuck behind enemy lines.
The company $KRKNF / $PNG.V just bought has its logo stamped on Anduril's Seabed Sentry product.
There isn't a single company that has this level of concentration in Anduril's supply chain.
Yet my X posts on Kraken still get only 10K views.
So extremely, extravagantly early.
Marco Rubio with one of the greatest speeches by a Sec of State in decades:
"We are prepared to do this alone but it is our preference, and our hope, to do this together with you, our friends in Europe.
America was founded 250 years ago, but the roots began here on this continent long before. The men who settled and built the nation of my birth arrived on our shores carrying the memories, the traditions, and the Christian faith of our ancestors as a sacred inheritance, an unbreakable link between the old world and the new.
We are part of one civilization, Western civilization. We are bound to one another by the deepest bonds that nations could share, forged by centuries of shared history, Christian faith, culture, heritage, language, ancestry, and the sacrifices our forefathers made together for the common civilization to which we have now fallen heir.
And if at times we disagree, our disagreements come from our profound sense of concern about a Europe with which we are connected, not just economically, not just militarily. We are connected spiritually and we are connected culturally. We want Europe to be strong. We believe that Europe and the West must survive."
Sja, in de VS stimuleren ze beleggen, in Nederland draaien ze de kleine belegger de nek om en vraagt dezelfde regering zich af waarom er geen durfkapitaal beschikbaar is 🤷♂️
