God is not a God of Jews, Christians, or ANY other religion. Those terms mean absolutely NOTHING to God. There is only One God, without a partner, equal, or associate. Nobody on Earth has the capacity to be closer to him than you, because:

"God does not show favouritism. But accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right."-Acts 10:34-35.

He is the Most High, and He is the God of all humanity. He is the same God Moses was introduced to in Midian and Ethiopia when he fled Egypt in Exodus 2:15 and met the people there ALREADY worshipping God.

God did not tell Moses to be a Jew and Moses did not establish Judaism. Moses only showed the children of Israel a way to God. The words Jew (Yehudi in Hebrew) and Judaism are man made words that came hundreds of years AFTER Moses. The word Jew was first used in 2 Kings 16:6.

He is the same God that sent Yeshua Hamashiach to show us the Way. He did not tell Yeshua to be a Christian or to create Christians. The word Christian came AFTER Yeshua (Jesus) physically left this Earth and originated from the townspeople of Antioch-Acts 11:26.

Does it make sense for men to give names to a way of God when He did not ask us to?

He is the same Creator who created Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. And the ONLY identity He gave them was Mankind, not Jew, Christian, or Muslim. Period. So be a man and be kind to your fellow man. That is what differentiates mankind from animals.
