The Mountain Stage was almost empty after Nectar Woode, who drew a huge crowd only for it to transition or probably transfer to other halls. BINI's set was at the same time with big acts and global artists like Pentatonix, Pendulum and Travis Japan among the few. Doubts. Questions. Silence. Fears. Tears. It would probably remain like that. Nonetheless, we know BINI would slay.

Then BOOM! Tears of joy. An ocean of drops befitting to BINI's sweat, blood and tears leading up to this.

Blooms, Japanese casuals and other artists came in droves. A dull moment turned to a flower in full Bloom. An intimate session transformed into a blaring party. Deafening. With legions in attendance. With showers of love. With drums of cheers and screams.

Was it a full capacity crowd like other A-listers? Was it a blockbuster one? Of course not.

But no others can express how we, Filipinos, are already grateful for this. An unknown girl group who has never set foot in Japan ever and in their lifetime managed to express and impress quite a few. And that's already more than enough. Malayo pa pero malayo na.

And to quote the great Alex Eala "This may mean nothing to Grand Slam winners, but for a once Filipina kid dreamer back home, this is everything." 🎾🌺🇵🇭
