For anyone down bad from the crypto market right now, here’s a story:

May 2021. One of the worst crashes in altcoin history. I remember watching my screen as months of gains were wiped out in a single candle.

Through 2020 I had been DCAing into BTC. But as the bull picked up, I rotated further down the risk curve, moving into riskier and riskier yield farms. I also started putting even more in, at prices way higher than my initial investment.

Eventually the strategies that had been working stopped. I started to lose money, first slowly, then suddenly. The final capitulation candle was just the confirmation that I had missed my chance to sell.

I ended up with less money than I had started with even after riding BTC up for almost a year. All that money I had spent months of work saving was gone.

I felt like an idiot.

To make matters worse, I had almost no funds to buy the dip. I had already poured my savings into altcoins that were now down 75%. I felt in my gut I was right about crypto but I had no way to get exposure.

I decided that one way I could get leverage on the market was to build a business in it. I started making YouTube videos about DeFi and learning Solidity. Eventually, when the market turned my YouTube took off. I made back everything I had lost plus more and planted the seeds for building a profile in this industry.

Fast forward 3 years, I’ve worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, have over 50K YouTube subscribers and have industry leaders read my tweets and newsletter.

All because I lost it all in a crypto crash.
