@CheIseaComps City goal was technically offside too... Semenyo went for the ball from offside position but then abandoned the run midway when he saw Haaland & then bumped Cucurrela when he adjusted his run... he definitely influenced the play from an offside position...
@ConnCFC Semenyo goes for the ball while offside but then let it go when he sees Haaland... shouldn't it be offside since he 'played' the ball & influenced the play...?
@MatthewSchupack@Nadol316@charlieo_conn you'd need a gyroscope & then a sensor that can detect how far behind the goal line the puck is depending on its orientation because a puck vertical & parallel to the goal line doesn't need to go as deep than a puck that is flat on the ice...
@Nadol316@charlieo_conn it's hard to do with a puck because of its cylinder shape... the orientation of the puck in comparison to the goal line plays a role whether the puck is fully across or not..
@HoCStaffer I've been advocating for this for over a decade..this prevents teams from unloading everything at the trade deadline & field a team that sucks because they'll eventually need to win games when they are mathematically eliminated..
@StephenBelau@jasrifootball he was thinking he had a free return attempt... if the attempted return is positive the ball is spotted in a better spot... if the attempted play is negative (touchback, fumble) the ball is spotted where the kicking team touched it...
@VincentVioli@BrandonGowton No, the receiving team gets to choose whether they want the ball where kicking team touched it or the result of the attempted play... so if the result of the attempted play is bad (safety, fumble) receiving team would choose the former... if it's better they'd choose the latter
