🏆 STATE CHAMPS! 🏆
A huge congratulations to Nicholas O. (90lb, 8th Grade) and Kamden C. (65lb, 6th Grade) for bringing home STATE TITLES for the Hadley Wildcats! 🏅
Hadley’s only other state champion was back in 2009—now, these two have cemented their place in history. We can’t wait to see them in Glenbard West green over the next few years! 💚🤼♂️
Shoutout to Coach Charlie McCluskey and the entire Hadley wrestling program on an incredible season! 👏👏 #FutureHilltoppers #StateChamps #HadleyWrestling #GBWrestling
Part of leadership is making difficult decisions.
Your team won’t always understand the decision. They won’t always agree with the decision. That’s okay.
But if you want them to buy in, they must trust your character and intent.
Be worth following.
Everyone has 2 voices in their head competing for their attention - the Champion and the Critic.
The Critic encourages excuses, blame, and avoidance.
The Champion challenges you to take ownership and do what is necessary.
The life you get is based on the voice you listen to.
@jacoblachs He also out-schemed and out-coached Deion in every other way. Deion too focused on selling sunglasses (and himself) than getting on the film. They looked terrible. CSU outplayed them drastically outside of the penalties.
Create a culture where people can't hide. Where the standard is clear, the necessary habits are identified, encouraged and celebrated, where the only choice is to be fully in or fully out.
When people can hide/coast/abdicate, the culture suffers.
Leaders set the tone.
Everyone has talent. It’s about what you do with your talent.
You can be lazy and waste it, you can just go through the motions and embrace average, or you can decide to honor and maximize the gift you’ve been given.
Show up on purpose.
Our coaching staff wishes good luck to our three Team Illinois wrestlers as they prepare this week to compete at Nationals in Fargo! Austin Bagdasarian, 220 lbs; Mondo Martinelli, 132 lbs; and Aidan Ortega, 94 lbs. @wrestling_york @GBWWrestle@shahebags
Grit is a muscle.
Resilience is a muscle.
Persistence is a muscle.
Belief is a muscle.
They only get built when they are tested.
The more you avoid adversity, the weaker you get. Which makes overcoming adversity even more difficult.
Keep showing up. Build your strength.
Great teams don't always agree. They have the difficult conversations in order to get better, to uphold the standard, to fight for each other rather than against each other.
Avoiding disagreement prevents growth, undermines trust and fractures culture.
Lean in. Do the work.
