Hi! You might know me from GDQ speedruns or gaming accessibility advocacy. Starting May 2021 I'll be an Accessibility Project Manager at Ubisoft! Wow!

A very valuable series of explanations for why
full screen colorblind filters are a wholly ineffective solution for colorblindness and create a bunch of new barriers for players instead.
Good contrast and mindful color choices go a long way for visual accessibility :)
@momoxmia@LaurakBuzz TLDR: if you can only see X number of hues and a game required differentiating X+1 hues, you'll always be one short no matter how filter swap hues around, e.g. shift green to blue and you can now tell green/red apart.. but at the expense of being able to tell green/blue apart...
Spoogily is probably the most common gibberish I use with my cat. Even with a consistent meaning.
Spoogily: crossing the stimulation threshold between enjoying being petted and wanting to fight or play.
Ex: "His pupils got big and I could tell he was feeling spoogily."
It's a good thing cats don't need to fully understand English, because otherwise I'm sure me saying "Oh you're feeling kinda spoogily? I'll leave you be then." would be very confusing to my cat.
I rolled credits in Returnal today. What an experience! Not sure I fully "get" the ending but I'm glad I managed to get there. The difficulty spike at the midpoint sure is a lot😮💨
Not only are they destroying Lebanon and 🍉, but frequently using new experimental weapons that cause brutal damage and/or banned weapons with phosphorus or depleted uranium.
It's mind boggling that they have so much impunity to get away with all this.
I'm super excited to announce that I'm officially writing a book about the accessibility movement in gaming! I'll be sure to share more details as they develop, but I'm looking forward to this project!
@unsecretcrush Oh as far as how useful it is- it's not great at all. Pretty sure no one is ever going to see a giraffe standing on the head of another giraffe🤣 The absurdity is very amusing
It's my birthday! Yeah I have covid and that sucks. My symptoms are somewhere between a rough cold and a mild to moderate flu though. I'm a bit behind on boosters but I'm sure it would be a lot worse for me without the vaccine!
so I really didnt want to come back like this. but, i lost my job unexpectedly today, right in the middle of looking for a new place to live. on the guidance of a close friend i've set up an emergency GFM to try and stay housed while i figure things out https://t.co/dv7pQb6bLL
