Christian, fiction writer and gamer. Looking for a wife/gf. Isaiah 5:20, Joshua 1:9, and "I disagree vehemently with you, but I don't hate you for it."
These canned responses have got to stop.
People just don't want to play as other characters. Applying the easiest response is ridiculous.
For example, I'm on record saying that Roxas's chapter in Kingdom Hearts 2 is annoying and pointless. How do you respond when I would prefer one male protagonist over another?
I want to play as Ellie through the entirety of TLOU2 because Abby annoys me as well. I prefer one female protagonist over another.
Reducing criticism to something most people aren't arguing is bitch-made because it means you can't refute, so you find the ones that your position easily counters.
Bearing in mind that Marvel is largely relatable heroes in a world outside your window whereas DC is more akin to modern day mythology with heroes one looks up to...
Power Rangers go to DC. Yeah they go on a talk show every few series but the rangers themselves are very much "people you look up to" moreso than "people you relate to"
Ghostbusters goes to Marvel, they are blue collar workers to a T
Sailor Moon could go either way but I'm leaning Marvel since a large component of it (at least early on) is living a normal high school life (also there's no way Superman doesn't get involved in Queen Metalia/Beyrl's shenanigans at the north pole)
Don't know enough about Gargoyles to make a call either way
Nobody understands what "Mary Sue" means and it's primarily because people like this use the term and the terms around it without actually *understanding* it
@Critical_Scribe Dude do you realize that Kratos is another example of a "Mary Sue" character especially in the og Greek games. Like Kratos literally bent the rules of his realm just so he could kill his father
"I was forced to be racist against that white man and watch him die as his stabbers entire migrant family tried to cover it up and our negligence and callous disregard and anti-white agenda caused him to choke on his own blood/bleed to death—I was just following orders!"
“You can’t politicise Henry Nowak’s death.”
This from the people who have politicised adverts, TV shows, films, sporting events, award ceremonies, documentaries, healthcare, school textbooks, college courses, the weather, and language itself!
Calling J.K. Rowling "she that shall remain nameless" is very funny considering that the "he who must not be named" thing is clearly presented as a sign of fear and cowardice that the hero of the story rejects.
why do they do this?
They do it because the first post is not actually an invitation to discuss women in games.
It’s a status statement: “We are the good people, the critics are bad people, applaud now.”
Once someone pushes back with counterexamples, the ritual breaks.
Suddenly they have to define what they mean by “problem with women,” and that’s where they short circuit.
@EmperorGuling@HLC_actual Mexico is run by cartels and Canada is killing young men and women because they're depressed in their 20s.
Calling ICE "secret police" is a tired and stupid thing. Quit it, leftie.
The whole exception to weapons laws that impact the rest of British society is bullshit & discriminatory.
In fact, he apparently had a small ceremonial kirpan but was also carrying a much larger dagger (the murder weapon). That’s not “religious tradition” anyway.
This is what the judge said.
The UK is an incredibly racist country. Racist against *its own people*
The problem with the UK right now is not simply that a white man was murdered by a Sihk. The problem is that the Sihk man was able to get away with it by telling the cops "he was racist"
And if it was just this one instance you could easily chalk it up to the individual officers being idiotic
But it is only the latest in a long and clear pattern of the UK police prioritizing the feelings of "racial minorities" over the good of their citizens. The term 'two-tier policing' long predates this incident, even though it is probably the clearest example of it.
Really think about this. This guy said "this man was being racist to me" and the cops immediately cuffed him as he was bleeding out on the ground, telling him he hadn't actually been stabbed.
Where's the "systemic racism" crowd here? George Floyd died because of a fentanyl overdose and the UK knelt for him. But one of their own citizens? Nope. Nothing.
You can cry about Nigel Farage or Rupert Lowe all you like but the fact of the matter is that the UK is pissing off its own citizens regardless of anything those two say. And the fact you're focusing on THEM rather than the CRIMINAL makes people even angrier.
I've said it for years now: if the UK were actively punishing foreigners who commit crimes - LIKE THEY SHOULD BE - you would not see the exact sort of "racism" that lefties in Britain complain about. Or at the very least you'd see less of it.
Until you acknowledge the real problems that caused this incident, you're just going to see even more of said "racism". Because the incidents won't stop, and so there will be more Henry Nowaks. More Iryna Zarutskas.
More and more and more until you do something or the "racists" do something. And by the time they do, it will be far, far too late to ask for moderation on any level.
That is not a threat, that is a warning; fix it now before it's too late.
God help the UK.
Horrific details laid out by the judge at Digwa sentencing.
As follows;
Digwa used his own mobile phone to film his victim attempting to escape by climbing onto a commercial rubbish bin and over a fence, while Digwa taunted: 'You're not going to get away with this big man.'
Sentencing Digwa, Judge William Mousley KC said: 'You continued to make films of Henry suffering, ignoring much of his desperation at having been stabbed. You told him that had not happened, no doubt to convince others who were nearby.' These clips have not been released.
Henry managed to land on top of a car parked in front of number 68, on the other side of the fence he jumped over. Digwa went on to take close-up photos of the incapacitated Henry lying on the ground.
In footage from a home security camera, Henry was heard saying 'I am dying', with Digwa replying, 'you're not dying bro'.
Ten minutes later, Henry said 'you stabbed me', with Digwa responding, 'no, I didn't', and, 'you were recording me thinking you're sick', which is slang for 'tough'.
In that ten-minute period, Digwa did not call an ambulance - but did film Henry for a full five minutes.
This clip was not played in court for being 'too disturbing to be shown'. The court heard the attack was not witnessed but neighbours heard Henry say he had been stabbed and was dying.
