I started trading memecoins about 5 days ago and somehow turned $100 into $1000 in basically 2 days. I’ve learnt a lot in these 5 days so I wanted to share with the other new traders in $CATE. I’m no expert at all, lowkey I still don’t know what the fuck I’m doing, but I’ll drop what actually worked for me.
1. Copytrading
FOMO is an amazing concept and allows new traders to enter the memecoin space easily. But it comes down to how you use it. Don’t use it blindly. Don’t just buy a coin because a bigger trader did. Actually do your own research before buying.
I use the copytrading feature as a radar, not a signal to blindly buy. I let the bigger bags find the coins, then I research if I want to be in the coin as well. That’s how I got into $CATE at $262k market cap. Thanks to the goat @PoorGoat_
Also, don’t follow hundreds of traders and copy all of them. Find a few trusted traders and focus on them. Quality over quantity.
2. Stop purely emotion trading
99% of new traders trade off pure emotion. Learn this quick. Trade with discipline, not emotion. If you want to make real money you can’t base every decision on fear or greed.
In $CATE there’s a lot of new traders complaining about not making money when they entered in a liquidity zone… which brings me to my next thing. (be patient, it will rise 🐈)
3. Learn the stages of memecoins and basic chart reading
If you can spot which stage you’re in and read simple things like support, resistance, volume spikes and liquidity zones, you stop buying the top and selling the bottom.
4. Risk management is still king
Never put more than you can lose on one coin. Size your bags so one rug or one dump doesn’t send you back to $0. Even if the chart looks perfect, protect the bag first.
5. Take profits, don’t get greedy
I can’t lie, a small part of me wants to take my profit. But I believe in $CATE and that it can go much higher.
When you think about taking profit, scale out. Imagine where the coin could go, do some research, and take some off along the way instead of waiting for the perfect top.
NOW AGAIN IM NOT AN EXPERT, I WOULD SAY I SUCK BALLS AT MEMECOINS BUT.
Just think for a second.... the opportunity for this coin to be special is BIG. The community we've built is insane.
I stand with @PoorGoat_. CATE can be the next coin to hit 10 figures mc and I believe it will.....
Crazy to think about but I’m 1000% sure that if the majority of us came together with one goal, pushing CATE as the second coming of DOGE, and started posting across social media, telling friends, and onboarding new people, we could create the first truly organic 10 figure memecoin we’ve seen in a very long time.
I hope people join me. I hope this works. But at the end of the day, I’m just one person.
We can all win together, but it actually takes us working together. One day we’ll get back there. I hope that time is now.
Yesterday I went from making what I thought was a good trade on $CATE to somehow becoming a community leader. Why? I honestly don’t know. I realized a lot of people’s first meme coin trade was CATE because they followed me over from Fomo.
If we want to keep those people around, we can’t keep repeating the same cycle where every coin runs to $10M, community leaders disappear, top blasters dump, and newcomers are left holding the bag. That’s how you lose retail.
When I saw that starting to happen, I felt like I didn’t really have a choice. Why would I even do this? I benefit very little. My public wallet has so many eyes on it that if I sold, it would probably hurt the project. I stepped up because I love this game and because I genuinely want to see this space heal and win again.
Then I wake up on day two to find malicious shorts and max-slippage bots targeting the coin. 17,000+ holders and someone is actively trying to kill the momentum? What is wrong with this space? I thought it was strange we did over $50M in volume without a Moonshot listing or even a mention from @Pumpfun , but if the puppet masters don’t want us to win, so be it. We’ll push even harder.
My thesis hasn’t changed.
CATE doesn’t need endless catalysts. The narrative is the catalyst. Everyone knows DOGE. You don’t need to explain why a cat version resonates. It’s instantly understandable to millions of people who remember DOGE.
We’re already seeing retail show up. I gained over 120k Fomo followers in a month, and every day people DM me saying they want to learn how to trade. That’s how real adoption happens. One person tells a friend, then that friend tells another.
18k holders in the first day isn’t normal. That’s proof the story resonates.
The goal isn’t another short-lived PvP runner. The goal is to build the cat that sits next to DOGE on the Mount Rushmore of memecoins. A coin that brings normies back into crypto because the story is so simple anyone can understand it.
Maybe I’m delusional.
Or maybe we’re watching the beginning of something much bigger.
