You know this is when GRRM's and Condal's relationship started to fracture. No way would GRRM allow a Blackwood to be depicted as an arrogant dickhead and the Bracken a mild-mannered nonbinary twink
@danyzstarlight Yeah that’s a good point. Just irritating because they cast Amanda Collin and look at that flop character. They may be waiting for more latter half of S3 and idk maybe S4 but there’s no time. The Vale plot was such a waste of time too.
@danyzstarlight But I only wish such care and general creativity was extended to female characters. Look at how sauceless Jeyne Arryn is and why couldn’t she be expanded?
@SofiaSmileey pre-Doom and only ascended to the power they did based on the fact that they’re the only known surviving family of dragonlords.
Dany may have very little Targaryen blood, and frankly it becomes absurd if you start to calculate genetic heritage in ASOIAF, but she does have it.
@SofiaSmileey And we know that is not the case. Furthermore, it is magic tied to blood because we know not all Valyrian families in Old Valyrian were dragonlords. It is the same blood magic that also allows Targaryens to be dreamers.
The Targaryens were just an average dragonlord family —
@SofiaSmileey being perceived as untrustworthy due to their bastardy coupled with other dragonseeds being betrayers.
Nettles is also more special for claiming a wild dragon, who behave very differently naturally, by her own wit. It doesn’t mean she doesn’t have Targaryen blood.
@SofiaSmileey Dragonseeds taps into one of George’s thematic interests which is bastardy in Westeros and how it’s perceived. In this case, you see them claim a fantastical beast that grants them unrivaled power and from that prestige. And yet, that isn’t enough for ppl like Addam & Nettles —
