📍Valverde +2m vs Olise
📍Rangel vs sub 5% owned GK
📍5m max spend defender (decision taken once GK and midfielder dilemma sorted)
I’m surprised Sergiño Dest ($4.3) is only 1.9% owned for MD1 🇺🇸
He’s in my current draft ‼️👀🇺🇸
-Usa 🇺🇸 vs Paraguay 🇵🇾 in MD1 🚀
-Usa 🇺🇸 vs Austrailia 🇦🇺 in MD2 🚀

#WorldCupFantasy#WCFantasy
Uruguay might actually be the best source of differentials in World Cup Fantasy 🇺🇾
Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 in MD1
Cape Verde 🇨🇻 in MD2
Here are the 5 Uruguay players I’m considering for my team👇🧵
#WorldCupFantasy#WCFantasy
Most FPL managers will ruin their World Cup campaign on day one because they don't understand the captaincy rules.
It is COMPLETELY different from the Premier League.
Here is how the interactive captaincy works and the best picks for every match slot 🧵👇
Most World Cup Fantasy managers will burn their chips without a clear plan. Huge mistake.
In a short tournament, timing is everything.
Here is my ultimate strategy for the 12th Man, Wildcard, and Power Captain chips to smash your mini-leagues 🧵👇
I finished the #wcfantasy tournament ranked 806th in the world.
I used 12th man in Round 1.
I also used Power Captain in the final match.
WC, and EURO fantasies are generally games where the fastest mover wins.
I wish everyone an enjoyable World Cup.
My league code: TRLI485V
FULL-BACKS
Llorente, Porro, Cucurella, Grimaldo
Cucurella is the clear first choice at left-back, but Grimaldo may get a start at some stage in the group.
Right-back is a closer fight, but Llorente should be ahead of Porro. Eric García and Marc Pubill can also play there.
Forwards I’d only consider starting with in MD1 👀
🇫🇷 Mbappe, $10.5m (50.5%)
France are built around him.
Captain option in any fixture.
🇳🇴 Haaland, $10.5m (33.4%)
Norway v Iraq in MD1.
On pens, elite finisher, captaincy route.
In my team rather than 12th Man.
🇪🇸 Oyarzabal, $8.1m (17%)
Spain have Cape Verde and Saudi Arabia first. Excellent value.
🇩🇪 Havertz, $7.8m (11.9%)
Likely Germany’s striker.
Curacao in MD1 is the big appeal.
Goal and assist v USA helps his case.
🇨🇭 Embolo, $7.5m (2.6%)
Switzerland focal point.
Penalty taker and strong minutes.
Qatar and Bosnia is a nice start.
🇧🇷 Brazil striker
Thiago, Cunha or Endrick.
If one looks clearly first choice, they become very interesting.
Haiti in MD2 is huge.
🇺🇾 Darwin Nunez, $7.5m (1.6%)
Low owned Uruguay route.
Saudi Arabia and Cape Verde first.
Shot volume could suit the format.
🇪🇨 Enner Valencia, $5.9m (0.7%)
Cheap talisman.
Pens, focal point, Curacao in MD2.
Good Scouting Bonus route if ownership stays low.
No Kane to start for me. I’d rather begin with Haaland and move to Kane in MD2 if needed.
Who’s your favourite forward pick? #WCFantasy

Poor game overall but Harry Kane gets the deciding goal (Spence assist) + a SOT bonus.

Full strength, competitive affair between the two sides.
Very quiet game for Haaland with only one attempt at goal in 72 mins.
Odegaard and B. Diaz with the goals. Bobb and Ezzalzouli with the assists, the latter sadly coming off injured for Morocco.
Julian Ryerson with another great game, creating 4 chances (1 big chance) and taking 6 corners.
- Tackle bonus: Aursnes, Bouaddi
👉🏻USA 1-2 Germany
A start and a goal for Leroy Sane in Lennart Karl’s absence. Currently under 5% owned and could be a superb differential.
Kai Havertz also managed a goal and assist in an hour played, whilst Kimmich managed yet another assist (from a free kick).
Nathaniel Brown started again over Raum, whilst Wirtz and Musiala both played 80 minutes.
- Tackle bonus: T. Adams x2, Pavlovic, McKennie, Tillman
👉🏻Brazil 2-1 Egypt
Igor Thiago started in a very strong Brazil XI.
Bruno G scored and took the majority of set pieces.
Endrick impresses with a goal off the bench, assisted by Raphinha.
Salah came off the bench for 45 mins but didn’t really do anything of note.
- Chance created bonus: Raphinha
- Tackle bonus: Casemiro, Fathi, Ateya, Lasheen
👉🏻Portugal 2-1 Chile
Bruno Fernandes scored the winner and was the only Portuguese attacker to play the full 90.
Ronaldo played the first half whilst the PSG trio (Vitinha, Neves, Mendes) didn’t participate in the game.
- No bonuses in this game!
Not quite a bonus point roundup but hopefully these small summaries are somewhat helpful 😆
Thanks for reading this far through!

Best Budget Defenders under $4.5m 👀
🇪🇨 Ordonez, $3.9m (0.7%)
Ecuador kept 13 clean sheets in 18 WCQ games, the most in South America.
MD2 v Curacao, 56% CS
🇨🇭 Widmer, $4.2m (1.1%)
Switzerland are a very well structured side with strong defensive numbers.
MD1 v Qatar, 54% CS
MD2 v Bosnia & Herz., 46% CS
🇺🇾 Olivera, $4.3m (0.6%)
Low owned route into a Uruguay defence with two solid early fixtures.
MD1 v Saudi Arabia, 50% CS
MD2 v Cape Verde, 50% CS
A defender with real Scouting Bonus potential.
🇳🇴 Ryerson, $4.2m (8%)
Norway have one of the best MD1 fixtures.
MD1 v Iraq, 56% CS
On corners, crazy assist record, will push high up the pitch.
🇹🇷 Bardakci, $4.0m (0.4%)
Probably the most nailed Turkey budget route. If you fancy their opening fixtures, he’s a solid option.
MD1 v Australia, 41% CS
At $4.0m he is a very handy enabler.
🇨🇴 Mojica, $3.9m (3.7%)
My favourite Colombia defender right now.
Attacking full back, budget friendly, and a great way into a team with strong early fixtures.
MD1 v Uzbekistan, 50% CS
MD2 v DR Congo, 54% CS
He might not stay under 5% owned though!
There are plenty of options other than these, but I like the look of them! Who is your favourite budget defender?
#WCFantasy
This is an interesting no-Mbappe draft
Planned MD2 moves would be:
Musiala —> Raphinha
Haaland —> Mbappe
12th man Vini
It targets COL, ESP, GER fixtures MD1 while still getting to 2x BRA, FRA attack in MD2
Only 5 players less than 5% ownership though
#WCFantasy
Yet ANOTHER hidden gem 💎 | #WCFantasy
Rubén Vargas 🇨🇭 -> MID, 6.8m, 0.5% OWNED
Great matchups: Qatar 🇶🇦 MD1, Bosnia 🇧🇦 MD2
Played at Sevilla this last year. The few games I watched he definitely passed the eye 👁️ test.
Huge differential, especially against Qatar. ♻️
Welcome back to another roundup of the recent friendlies with all the key notes:
👉🏻France 1-2 Ivory Coast
Very strong French team in the 1st half - they went into the break 1-0 up.
Cherki ($8m) scored the only goal and played the second most outfield minutes for France.
Both Mbappe & Olise played the first half, but neither managed an attacking return.
Olise, Mbappe and Cherki each shared corner duties whilst on the pitch together.
The standout performance came from Ivory Coast RB Guela Doue ($3.9m) who managed a goal and assist!
Amad ($5.9m) came off the bench and scored the late winning goal against the much changed French team.
- Tackle bonus: Akliouche, Inao Oulaï
👉🏻Spain 1-1 Iraq
Olmo, Porro and Ferran Torres amongst the starters in a heavily rotated Spanish team.
Olmo ($7.7m) did assist Ferran Torres ($7.8m) for the only Spanish goal, with both players also missing a big chance in the 45mins they each played.
Joan Garcia had a moment to forget as the Iraq goal scorer, Merchas Doski ($3.8m) basically crossed the ball into the net.
- SOT bonus: Ferran Torres
- Tackle bonus: Pino, Bernal
👉🏻Mexico 5-1 Serbia
Centre back Johan Vasquez ($4.7m) incredibly scores his 2nd goal in two friendlies.
Brian Gutierrez ($5m) was on corner duties and provided the assist for Vasquez from one in the first half.
Raul Rangel ($3.9m) did start in goal once again, despite news that Ochoa will play in the tournament.
Raul Jimenez ($7m) was one of the goal scorers, he also managed to hit the SOT bonus (+1pts).
- SOT Bonus: Jimenez
👉🏻Sweden 2-2 Greece
Another somewhat poor result for Sweden but Gyokeres ($7.8m) continues to perform for his country.
The Arsenal man scored a direct free kick (+1 extra point) and also claimed the SOT bonus (+1 pts).
Yasin Ayari ($5.3m) started the game and took Sweden’s only corner. He also created a big chance and hit the tackle bonus (+1pts).
- SOT bonus: Gyokeres, Elanga
- Tackle bonus: Ayari, Bergvall
👉🏻Netherlands 0-1 Algeria
I possibly wouldn’t read too much into the result as the goal came in the 86th minute and both teams had changed their entire teams by that point.
Van Hecke ($4.3m) started alongside Van Dijk in a strong XI and played the most minutes out of the Dutch players.
Donyell Malen ($6.1m) started and played decent minutes. Memphis Depay ($7.4m) did come on at HT for Summerville.
- SOT Bonus: Gakpo
👉🏻Morocco 4-0 Madagascar
Ismael Saibari ($6.8m MID) started up front and had an excellent 45 minutes, scoring two goals and also missing two big chances.
Veteran striker Ayoub El Kaabi ($5.9m) also scored, after replacing Saibari in the second half.
- Tackle bonus: El Mourabet
👉🏻Croatia 0-2 Belgium
Decent performance from Belgium in what was a very strong starting field for both sides.
Maxim De Cuyper ($4.7m) did manage a somewhat fortunate assist for Youri Tielemans ($6.1m).
Kevin De Bruyne ($7.5m) had a rare quiet game, playing 67 minutes and not creating a single chance!
Romelu Lukaku ($7.4m) did manage a goal off the bench in his 17 minute cameo.
- No bonuses awarded!
Hopefully these posts are useful mini summaries going into the last week before everything kicks off!
Thanks for reading the whole way through and I’ll see you for another roundup next week!

At the moment, this is what my World Cup squad looks like!
I really like the way it’s set up 🤠 I think it’s well-balanced and includes players who are in good form. It also features players who consistently deliver for their national teams whenever they play for them! ⚽🔥
