Takeaways from the Spurs Game 1 loss vs. the Knicks:
- 11/43 from three and they did nothing but keep shooting.
- Victor Wembanyama played soft and the fact he did nothing but continue to chuck up threes and long jumpers is ridiculous.
- All he did was try to get long jumpers and drive, hints why he had six turnovers.
- De'Aaron Fox gotta get buckets dude, he simply has to score.
- Dylan Harper was easily the best player tonight and that is not a good thing despite how well he played.
- How is Keldon the only one with a positive +/-
- Stephon Castle is being guarded by Jalen Brunson and he's shooting 7/16
- Devin Vassell literally disappeared too.
- Julian Champagnie with a first-half magnet ball and literally nothing after that.
- I am furious by the lack of attacking of the basket when you have Brunson guarding the guards and KAT's rim protection.
- Luke Kornet was also nowhere to be seen either.
- I just don't understand how there can be such a lack of ball movement.
- They got up 14 and just let the Knicks get right back into it.
- If Harrison Barnes and Keldon aren't gonna play then you need to give Carter Bryant a shot.
- 42 points in the paint, that needs to change.
- Somehow the Spurs are still allowing offensive rebounds and they gave up 23-second chance points because of it.
- 15 fast-break points is not ideal.
- Wemby gotta assert himself in the paint. Dude is 7-4 and is acting like a floor spacer.
- You've got to force more than eight turnovers.
- I'm infuriated with the second-half offense, genuinely looked like a 2K REC team and I guess that means it'll be better in Game 2.
- They even won the rebounding battle and still lost.
- How do you allow a team to go on a 13-0 run after taking a 95-94 lead in the final two minutes?
- I do not feel the way I felt after previous losses, like that did not give me any confidence.
- If the Knicks get Game 2 then they might legitimately sweep. I'm that worried.
0-1. #PorVida

Impossible to win a Finals game like that. Bright side is Spurs can't play any worse and barley lost

James Dolan took over the Knicks in 1999. From 1999-2020, the Knicks lost more games than any other team in the NBA.
Leon Rose was hired in 2020 and the Knicks are in the Finals six years later. Patient, creative. Nearly every move was a home run.
The best front office in the NBA turned the worst franchise in the NBA into a contender. This is the team Leon, Wes, and their group took over. Storybook stuff.

The 7'0 sophomore from Sierra Leone averaged 4.7pts/5.8reb for the Catamounts last season.
Welcome, Abdulai! 🏴☠️
Knicks beating these teams so bad people are creating new narratives for these teams. I swear the Knicks are gonna beat the Spurs in the Finals and blame it on inexperience or some bullshit
