Depression is sleeping through the day in a dark room. Depression is ignoring calls & text from family & friends. depression is feeling lonely, but not wanting company. depression is a disease. It’s called the silent killer for a reason. If you’re still here today, I love you.
Depression doesn’t always look like crying.
Sometimes it looks like:
Cancelling plans last minute.
Replying “I’m fine” automatically.
Struggling with basic tasks
Feeling disconnected from people you love.
Needing constant distraction just to get through the day.
This is depression too.
Be kind
my therapist told me this and it hit me: “healing is so hard because it is a constant battle between your inner child who is scared and just wants safety.... your inner teenager who is angry and just wants justice.... and your current self-who is tired and just wants peace."
nobody talks about how exhausting it is to live in that space between “things will get better” and “i can’t handle this anymore.” it’s like your emotions are constantly swinging. leaving you both hopeful and defeated in the same day
people lack accountability, then be like "you could've just talked to me". no, i couldn't. you don't listen. you deflect. you gaslight. you make me feel like i'm the problem for bringing it up. so no, i stayed silent to protect my peace, not because I didn't want to fix.
