The former Massachusetts state representative, now running for Congress in the state’s 6th District, tells Ryan Grim that Rep. Lois Frankel, chair of Elect Democratic Women (EDW), urged her to “take all the money,” including AIPAC money, because electing a woman was the priority.

When Belsito refused, EDW backed rival Tram Nguyen, she says. An EDW affiliate has since spent at least $450,000 supporting Nguyen ahead of the September 1 primary. Sludge reports EDW Action Fund has received at least $2.45 million from AIPAC’s super PAC since May 2024.
