.@NME gives “The Great Impersonator” a perfect 100/100:
“On the surface, the ever-evolving artist’s fifth album is an homage to the musicians who helped shape them. Dig deeper, and you’ll find her grappling with her own mortality, singing from the space between life and death.”
I’m certain my least memorable song will be remembered more fondly and for more time than anything you ever do with your life will be. Everything you say is more “whiny” and “edgy” than I was at any point on that album. But at least I had the excuse of going through chemo.
@maverickaveril Basically, Halsey did an interview with Zane Lowe about 10 years of Badlands and, as always, she was very truthful, saying her label is holding her back from releasing new music because TGI didn’t meet their commercial expectations for her.
@clearlyclemntne@emrivalry “Ego” is the biggest waste of her career along with “Lonely is the Muse.” Both had so much potential yet got zero investment. Sad.
@rohasmusic Halsey dropped 5 exclusive versions on her site with different tracks, but only 1 was officially released. They could’ve made a deluxe with all of them + the Vevo live like Manic, but they won’t. They wanted Manic’s numbers without Manic’s investment.
.@halsey’s “BADLANDS” is expected to re-enter the Billboard 200 at #36 for its 160th non-consecutive week, with over 18K units sold following the release of the “Decade Edition Anthology”.
